Davies keen for Tennant to stay on as 'Who'
Russell T Davies is eager for David Tennant to continue starring in Doctor Who for the foreseeable future, but is noncommittal over his own involvement in the show beyond 2009.

"I want David to stay on forever," showrunner Davies stated at the press launch of the impending fourth season. However, the acclaimed writer stated that he is "committed as long as I'm committed" when asked whether he will still be involved for the time travelling drama's fifth season in 2010. "Never mind what happens behind the scenes, it's what happens on Saturday night that's important," he added.

Davies also reiterated his displeasure at the BBC's widely criticised decision to move Doctor Who into a non-primetime slot at 6.20pm on Saturday evenings. "It's not a time slot I agree with. I'd rather it went out later," he said. "But we've been told that it's a gateway to the whole Saturday night."
