'Doctor Who' knitting patterns anger BBC
Published Wednesday, May 14 2008, 11:32 BST | By Ben Rawson-Jones

The Times reports that a 26-year-old woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, has withdrawn her online guides to create woolen imitations of creatures like the Ood and the Adipose because of pressure from the broadcaster. She told the newspaper that she is "an ordinary person who just likes knitting".
The report also quotes Richard Taylor, a copyright lawyer with DLA Piper, who stated: "My advice is that trademark and copyright owners should try and be generous to their fan base."
However, a BBC spokesperson claimed that it was merely trying to protect their trademarks and was compelled to act "because the knitted figures are being sold on eBay".
