S01E02: 'The End Of The World'

The Doctor takes Rose to the year 5 billion to witness the Earth's destruction at the hands of the Sun, from a spaceship known as Platform One. A range of guests are in attendance, including Cassandra - an elongated flap of skin with a face in the middle and her brain in a jar. She claims to be the last pure human in existence, which displeases Rose.

A humanoid shaped tree called Jabe is shocked by the presence of The Doctor after her gadget determines his race. She offers him comfort for his predicament, of which Rose is yet to learn.

Meanwhile, some metallic spiders are on the prowl, tampering with the ship's wiring and disposing of anyone in their way. Rose is struck unconcious by some mysterious hooded aliens called The Adherents of the Repeated Meme. Soon, Platform One's sun shields are being raised , with Rose regaining her senses only to discover she's trapped in a room with a rapidly rising temperature.

The Doctor rescues her and uncovers the murderer, but not before they make a quick exit. The sun shields are lowered once more and The Doctor faces a death-defying trip to the engine room to save the day, but at a cost...
