S01E08: 'Father's Day'

The Doctor takes Rose back to the fateful day in 1987 when her father was mown down by a car and killed. The timelord's companion had agreed she could be there to comfort the dying man and nothing more, but when the moment arrives she pushes him out of the way of the vehicle.
This intervention incenses The Doctor, fearful that the laws of time have been tampered with and the possible consequences of that. Concurrently, a few of the locals around town disappear at the hands of an unseen force that swoops from the sky.
The Doctor and Rose have an argument and the Timelord storms off, branding her "another stupid ape" because of her selfish attitude towards time travel. However, when he returns to the Tardis he finds it to be just a hollow shell inside.
Rose arrives at the church with father Pete and meets her mother Jackie - in her younger form - who believes the young girl to be a conquest of her father's. Rose sees that her parents' relationship was more tempestuous than she realised.
The Doctor then arrives to warn the others of an imminent danger, only to witness a massive flying creature known as a 'Reaper' materialise above a party of wedding guests. He shouts at them to take refuge inside the church, but a couple are gruesomely gobbled up before they can make it.
Inside the church, The Doctor reveals that the Reapers - who heal wounds in time - can be kept away by old things like the church - and himself. But a lapse from Rose as she comes into contact with herself as a baby causes disaster and allows the Reapers to gain entry to the church. Not even The Doctor can save the day as he becomes their latest victim. The future looks bleak for the world but can Rose and her father figure out a solution?
