S04E01: 'Partners In Crime'

The Doctor poses as a Health and Safety officer at Adipose Industries, a place where Donna Noble works in a similar role. The organisation is run by Miss Foster and revolves around the marketing of a revolutionary slimming pill. Donna deeply regrets not joining The Doctor previously and is now living at home with her mother Sylvia and grandfather Wilf, who has a fondness for star gazing.

Donna visits someone who uses the pills and inadvertently triggers an outbreak of small, white alien children from the body of the lady by toying with a gold chain given out to patients by Adipose. The Doctor and Donna individually lurk inside the Adipose building after hours and spy on Miss Foster, who is holding an undercover journalist captive. Foster, who dubs herself a 'nanny' to the Adipose alien children, spots the pair and chases after them, using her sonic device to try to sever the cables on an external lift they use in their escape.

The Doctor and Donna escape, but Foster accelerates the plan and Adipose start hatching out of everyone who has taken the pill. The Doctor manages to ensure that all the victims keep their lives, if not their fat, by shutting down Foster's computer in time. A spacecraft turns up, bearing the parents of the aliens, to collect their children and they are beamed onto the ship. However, Foster ignores The Doctor's warnings and is dropped to her death by her employers as they have no further need for her.

Donna persuades The Doctor to let her travel with him and brings plenty of luggage onto the Tardis, although she is initially fearful that he may want to mate with her. Donna calls her mother to tell her that she is going away and that she is hiding the car keys in a nearby bin. She then asks a young blonde woman to pinpoint the location to Sylvia when she arrives on the scene. The woman in question is Rose Tyler, who looks distressed and discreetly fades away moments later.
