Ten teasers about 'Victory of the Daleks'
Published Monday, Apr 12 2010, 20:34 BST | By Neil Wilkes | 48 comments

As we saw from the end of the last episode, The Doctor's most indefatigable enemy return in the next episode - in the most unlikely of places. The Daleks are now Winston Churchill's secret weapon in the battle to defeat the Axis in WWII.
Read on for Tube Talk's ten teasers about Mark Gatiss's 'Victory Of The Daleks':
1. Some time has elapsed between episodes.
2. The 'Daleks' are known as 'Ironsides' and were apparently the invention of Professor Edwin Bracewell (guest star Bill Paterson).
3. The Ironsides are completely harmless beings and have the ultimate aim of helping the British, under the guidance of Winston Churchill (guest star Ian McNeice), to win the war.
4. Hailing from the 21st Century, Amy knows all about the Daleks, right? Right?!
5. Winston really wants something from The Doctor.
6. "We shall return to *** *** **** and ***** *****."
7. Amy: "Ever fancied someone you know you shouldn't?"
8. Star Wars.
9. There are not only army-coloured Daleks, but multi-coloured Daleks too.
10. Mmmm. Anyone fancy a Jammie Dodger?
What do you make of our teasers? Are you pleased to see The Daleks back? Do you have high hopes for this episode? Add your comments to this entry below!

The daleks = boring, yawning episode. The doctor seriously needs a new enemy to fight.

Can't help but be excited about the Daleks being back! To me they're as 'Doctor Who' as The Doctor & the TARDIS!... And sure the pepper pots should in theory be 'dead' as far back as 1964.. but who cares LOL.. I'm excited to see how Mark Gatiss has resurrected them for Matt Smith's Doctor... and I love how 'Victory of the Daleks' follows in the traditional naming convention of classic DW dalek stories... Roll on VOTD!!

To those who have said they won't bother watching it, before they even know the plot, consider this... Professor Bracewell is robotic, and is created by the Daleks. Creating an android who looks like a human and claims to have 'invented' the Daleks - could this all be part of the Daleks' usual plot?

They cant leave the Daleks out not many people know but the Daleks have to be in the series at least once a year or they loose the rights to use the Daleks thats why in 2009 the DALEK had to appear in the waters of mars if only briefly. So stop moaning.

comments re: overuse of daleks. oi moffett...NO!!! in the original doctor who series, they would disappear for a few years and you would be GENUINELY excited to see them reappear on the screen but they have been in EVERY....SINGLE....ONE of the new series so far. enough! give them a break until AT LEAST 2013 so we can all give a rousing cheer when they make their entrance.

I love Doctor Who asa much as any normal person doesbut...Aren't the darleks supposed to be dead, they've been killed like a gazillion times and then the doctor says they won't come back and then they do!! it's like an annual thing innit. But I don't care I love the darleks, just wish they'd create some new aliens, (Oh and I hope they bring back the JUDOON, they are my fave)!!! btw don't like the new GREEN? sonic screwdriver. What is up with that rubbish. it was much better blue.

In reference to no.7, i just hate it when the doctor and assistant have a romantic relationship. NO NO NO. I hope that isn't a key theme, but otherwise i'm EXCITED

Holly Moses!. I've just seen the new Daleks. What the hell were they thinking about... The person(s) who re-designed them must of been on a LSD trip themselves. I'll give em 7/10. Looking foward to Victory Of The Daleks though.

Daleks? Love 'em! I don't understand the negative attitude towards them amongst the Who fraternity. Bring it on! As for the new partnership, I'm still undecided. I was so keen for them to be brilliant but I have been more disappointed than I expected to be. I haven't given up hope yet though 'cos "The Moff" has proven to be a great writer in the past and hopefully will raise Dr Who above the level of RTD's occasional dips into stupidity. I will never forgive him for the Slitheen, they were embarrassing!

The new Daleks are amazing. Even though they looked they've been designed by those sporty engineers at Renault Sport They're taller and sleeker looking too.

Seeing as it says "The 'Daleks' are known as 'Ironsides' and were APPARENTLY the invention of Professor Edwin Bracewell", I'm really hoping he's just some guy who found the Daleks and is taking credit, not wanting to admit they're aliens. If this is a weird re-imagining where we're supposed to buy that they're not REALLY Daleks but some guy managed to invent a robot that's completely identical despite never having seen a real Dalek, I'm not gonna be happy.

I imagine 'the time has elapsed' for Churchill and the Daleks but it's been mere seconds for The Doctor. More TARDIS miscalculation.

@Paw from Essex - Yes, because farting aliens and burping wheely bins aren't childish at all, are they? *rolls eyes* If anything, Series Five has been the least "childish" the show has ever been since it returned in 2005. This episode looks amazing, I can't wait :-)

Star Wars again? - didn't we have enough Star Wars refs last week? I don't like them. Dr Who is British! Make refs to Quatermass or something...

cannot wait for daleks to come back! my favourite villains EVER. they deserve to be in each series, even if its just one episode - they were the first villains way back when Who started and they're integral to the show. the 'star wars' scenes with the spitfires look AMAZING. really looking forward to the new doctor's interaction with the defining villains of doctor who.

Too soon for the new Doctor to be facing the Daleks, they are his ultimate enemy and should maybe have been kept to the last episode to build the excitement up, and make it a two parter so we would have to wait in torture for the new series!!!! Amy Pond rocks!!!!
