david tennant has a contract till 2010 but he is working in the global theatre next year so they are only going to have 4 specails
W.Hartnell, Scrap Yard on July 2nd, 2008
You could replace the brown suited David Tennant? Maybe the blue suited David Tennant grown from the Doctor's hand! If the doc has enough regeneration energy left after a few hours to regrow a chopped off hand, perhaps an in-progress regeneration can grow a new doctor from an old hand :)

There are pictures of DT on the net filming the xmas special with David Morrisery who some have touted as being the new doctor. Threefold man... 2 DTs and a new one??..

ADRIAN LESTER FOR THE NEXT DOCTOR!
Dave, Leeds on July 2nd, 2008
After the farce of Christopher Ecclestone's leaked departure, I'm sure that the production team wanted to keep a tight lid on DT's departure. It was known that DT would be doing his Shakespear thing next year so the Specials were announced with a full series the year after. This might be true, but it might not, if they wanted to keep DT's departure secret then the specials would be a good cover. For all we know there might even be a full season next year with a new Doctor. As for DT's appearance in the Christmas special, he may be in it, he may not. All we know is that he turned up to a closed set, we don't know if he filmed any scenes. It might just be part of the rouse. The only way to be sure is to watch on Saturday, I know that nothing will get me away from the telly until it's over.

Well, I do not want David Tennant to go, I would like/love to see something happen with the doctor and rose b4 he goes at least he hasn't gone already. =[
Rob, Cambridgeshire on June 30th, 2008
I too think the hand will play a key part, as will the doctors 'daughter' and the machine that spawned her.......
Mark & J, Clapham on June 30th, 2008
Because the woman from the library IS him in the future or is maybe the next Doctor regenerate....
Dave Ross, Bransholme on June 30th, 2008
It would really anger me if Russell T. Davies has simply put this week's regeneration in to boost ratings for next week. In my opinion Tennant won't regenerate. It's obvious that Rose doesn't want him to and I believe that the Doctor's love for her will some how prevent him into completing his transformation. However, if there is to be a new Doctor then I think Alan Davis could be a candidate (he was only discussing it just the other night on Graham Norton) or Rupert-Penry Jones who is leaving Spooks next season and is a chum of RTD after working with him on 'Casanova.'

Which episode does it tell u that the Doctor only has 3 regenerations left?
Hazel, Amersham on June 30th, 2008
he cant be regenerating! if he is, how does the woman from the libary know him???
Nicola, Portsmouth on June 30th, 2008
I dont want david to leave i think he makes a great doctor.. I still have it in my head hes not going and they going to twist it, if he was going to leave we would have seen people filming the new actor. David Morrissey has been filmed taking part with david tennant for the christmas special so i can't see how he can leave if he's still filming more

I Would Make A Good Replacement!!! (Oh yeah? And how? -Neil)
Kevin, Southend on June 30th, 2008
Everyone has seen the new doctor already in full costume, filming the Xmas special. Its David Morrisey, DT was there for the day to fool us all. Check out the pictures online.
Nick, Worcester on June 30th, 2008
I don't think he's leaving, what with the hansd and the time pocket and Rose being there, but I think he should. After all it's not the Davis T show, it's Dr Who. Fresh blood id needed before it gets tired (like it did before). Rhys Efans would be good...
Rebecca, Belper on June 30th, 2008
I don't think that David Tennant is leaving. I have heard that he has filmed the Christmas special, so I would doubt that this is the end for DT. I think the hand will have something to do with it, however I am looking forward to next episode. I loved it when the Doctor and Rose were running towards each other. They both looked so happy. Damn Daleks. I am primed for next Saturday.
Lainey, Dublin on June 30th, 2008
No way is DT leaving! Fantastic viewing though and no trailers were shown of next weeks show because DT is there!!!
Iain Wiseman, New Zealand on June 30th, 2008
I hope but dont think it is... Time goes backward for the doctor for the specials and Christopher Eccleston takes over after which we get David Tennant back. Just make sure that Steven Moffet does some more writing as soon as possible
Phil, Northants on June 30th, 2008
Whether or not he's going to regenerate in the next ep, I reckon Anthony Head would make a great Doctor when the time comes!
Alex, Newport on June 30th, 2008
@Miss in South Wales - I thought that's what I saw but I wasn't too sure. Guess I was right then, bunch of muppets editing the show obviously NOT from Wales!
Marli, South Wales on June 30th, 2008
I think just as the Doctor regenerates, something goes wrong....or his legacy returns? Who knows....great episode though!
BT, USA on June 29th, 2008
If you look again at when The Doctor was hit by the Dalek ray, it only winged his shoulder. Whereas when any normal person is shot, their entire body glows and they die. This could be a side effect of that one second in time thing. Oh and if Davros can be saved from the time war, all bets are off. Are they even going to acknowledge that The Doctor only has 3 regenerations left in this new incarnation of the series?
Peter, London on June 29th, 2008
Look. No Master No Astrid No Jenny No new Doctor - or 2 doctors No new Time-Lords Donna is special (she is not a time lord or the rani and will save the day).
Sue, Cornwall on June 29th, 2008
David is irreplaceable. Best Doctor ever, and the BBC would lose millions of viewers without him. Suggestions of the awful James Nesbitt (unwatchable in anything) & Robert Carlisle are ludicrous! PLEASE! Keep David Tennant at all costs! Have watched since 1962, & he knocks everyone else into cocked hats. If Billie isn't coming back, how about Jemima Rooper as his assistant?
Libertine, Barnsley on June 29th, 2008
Best cliffhanger ever, beats any episode of lost lol, still shocked, if he does regenerate im hoping the guy from spooks who plays adam really cant remember is name, but to be honest cant see it happening, a new doctor that is, it was only in the paper otehr week how much there willing to pay to keep daivid at the bbc and as the doctor
Lady Catkin, Yorkshire on June 29th, 2008
I think Jennifer Saunders is going to be the doctor. I think he'll enjoy being a girl.
Ron Langley, Eastbourne, East Sussex on June 29th, 2008
Just brilliant. Need i say more.
Austin, U.S. on June 29th, 2008
You should see some of the fan films on YouTube from some legit professional actors - like Tony Coburn, Grant Battersby, Philip Stamper, and Thomas Rees Kaye. Bring in a next to unknown. Actually, Coburn is going to be Young Lucious Malfoy in the next Harry Potter movie. Another little connection. And I severely DOUBT Tennant is leaving. Could be a random timey-wimey thing...maybe even testing the thought of who a new one could be. AND THEY COULDN'T GET MARTHA THERE TO BE THERE FOR THIS REGENERATION!? WHAT!? It'll prob be James Nesbit. Not bad, but I dunno what I think of it. I know the guy who's Will Scarlett & was Banes was also rumored, but maybe I just haven't had a good look at him yet. lol - I think Simon Pegg (who, yes, I know was The Controller - but with white hair) would be brilliant.
Amy, Cornwall on June 29th, 2008
That has got to be one of best episodes of doctor who ever! It was epic all the way through, and the cliffhangers have left me (and I bet thousands others) in total suspence. I just want to watch next week's now! I read David Tennant has been signed on to do this years Christmas special therefore is not leaving. But where does that leave the re-generation? Thats what I want to know. And theres something to do with Donna thats about to crop up too. I just loved it when The Doctor and Rose saw each other for the first time, call me soft but it was so sweet! Brilliant acting. Trust a Dalek to become in the way though! Is it going to be happy ever after? Guess we are just going to have to watch and find out. Anything's possible in Doctor Who and with RTD. I'm just hoping Rose and The Doctor do eventually get a bit of 'alone' time to talk – will be interesting. :) I also heard that a loved companion won't make it, and this has lead me to believe it will be Donna as Catherine Tate, reportingly has not been signed on for another series.

If the Doctor does change, when does he meet River Song?
Fran, USA on June 29th, 2008
Have seen ciffhanger, what is going on??. Is this all a dream?? Who is Dr. River Song??? The change was going to happen at some point in time. More upset: no show for a year??? If wasn't for a unamed web site and brave people posting the show, would of had no ideal it was coming. Not living in the UK have no clue as to the fate of the show or the cast for up to a year. In order for the spin off shows to contiue there needs to be a time shift, where the new DW goes back in time and changes the out come of the time wars. So who will the new DW be someone from the past shows. Rewatch the old shows for clues. Dr. River Song is the first person to be known to the Doc in his time line but not in current time. They never give us this many clues. The Face of Boas has seen all so Jack still lives.
Lolly on June 29th, 2008
i hope he dosnt go if he does im going to go mad!! he is the best! xx
Amanda, USA on June 29th, 2008
RTD just LOVES to mess with the fans! I don't think DT is leaving either, but I think Sean Pertwee would make a great Doctor!
Mark & J, Clapham on June 29th, 2008
We reckon it could be River Song...she whispered in his ear how they were connected in the future - maybe its that she is him!
Andrew Rex, Bristiol on June 29th, 2008
DT is not leaving yet as he has agreed to do the specials next year. there are also shots of him in the xmas episode but there is a rumour it is called the two doctors so maybe there twist is the doctors personality splits. the other doctor in the xmas episode is played by david morrissey (blackpool). the latest name linked with replacing DT is Julian Rhind Tutt, better known for green wing and as the blonde one from the barclay card ads. my choice for the role once DT gives up would be Adrian Lester, he has just come back to the beeb for a fifth series of hustle and i think he could do the role very well.
Carley, Gloucester on June 29th, 2008
I'm not sure if last nights episode was some kind of clever plot twist, but the month before last some scenes from the Christmas Doctor Who special were filmed in my fair city and I got to meet the great man him self and saw scenes being filmed which deffinately starred David, I won't eveal what I saw incase it ruins the special for people, but DAVID WAS THERE FILMING!!!
Graeme, Germany on June 29th, 2008
The Doctor's most faithful companion could be the Tardis
Scott Dale, Port Talbot on June 29th, 2008
i think Neil Morrisey will be an excellent doctor who. =D
polkadotty on June 29th, 2008
(I hope) He's not regenerating, but if he did, JAMES MCAVOY?!
Miss, South Wales on June 29th, 2008
Would like to say that I don't watch doctor who as I think it is dreadfully filmed, but I quite enjoyed that episode. Although, when the woman said she was handing something over to Torchwood (based in Cardiff), the computer map showed Swansea. This to me is an unforgiveable error, as I think the show is produced by BBCWales (even if its not, who of any reasonable intelligence could not find Cardiff the capital of Wales on a map)??
