Jen, Gloucester on June 29th, 2008
He's not leaving, he's been seen filming the Christmas special - partly in Gloucester. Fantastic cliffhanger though - I can't wait a whole week!!!
Justin, Birmingham on June 29th, 2008
"We can't possibly be getting a new Doctor. Can we?" Oh come off it Neil, you already know what happens! Stop teasing! ;)
Alice Wardman, Somerset on June 29th, 2008
I think the cliffhanger ending was unfair!!! I don't want David T to leave!!!
Tom, Manchester on June 29th, 2008
i dnt fink david tennant is leaveing an he is the best doctor ever i fink coz they wher in a different time he wil cum bck as himself i fink rose wil b killed i dnt her 2 b if 1 of them had 2 go id gt rid of donna
Jodie, Cardiff on June 29th, 2008
We know David isn't leaving. It's just a complete waste of time to have a supposed cliffhanger, when we know the outcome. He'll regenerate into his self.
Jon, Bristol on June 29th, 2008
Folks there's a point that people are missing - that alien at the Shadow Proclamation said to Donna that she had something on her back... If she realises this then time will be changed (as per Turn Left), bringing Tennant back in as the Doctor instead of whoever the 11th Doc is...she may have to die in the process tho...But Rose is my bet!
CG, Stoke-on-Trent on June 29th, 2008
Fantastic cliffhanger only spoiled by the fact we know DT has already finished filming the next Christmas special, an appearance in Sarah Jane Adventures, and confirmed on the Andrew Marr show that he is in ALL of next years specials. But a brillient episode all round. I think the hand will play a part in him not regenerating into someone new, as I noticed at any given chance the hand was positioned to be clearly seen in many shots.
Kris, England on June 29th, 2008
did noone see the doctor get shot by the death ray? look at it again! only half his body goes the bluey colour like when other normal people die,(unless this is a real slip up by the bbc special effects depart.) so i would think that the doctor is just repairing that half of his body so therefore keeping dt as the doctor
Nick, Birmingham on June 29th, 2008
I think the regeneration goes wrong, the hand is a key, i think it botches the regeneration and makes a second copy of the 10th doctor. Rose and the Doctor will throw themselves into the meduca cascade. I think it solves the issue that the doctor has 3 regenerations left. Dunno just a theory. I think it will be Rose that sacrifices herself to save the earth.
Darren, Liverpool on June 29th, 2008
Dalek Khan refers to the doctor as the three fold man. The Dr is now in the Tardis with three separate companions - does he split (one DT for each with one going back with Rose to her universe, maybe he temporarily inhabits the 3 companions or maybe McGann and Eccleston come back for a reunion show!!!
Rob, Harpenden on June 29th, 2008
They had Christopher ecclestone and nobody thought he would be good, he was excellent. Then they took on David and thought no one could live up to Ecclestone, he stood up to the hype and more!! Whoever they choose we should at least give them a chance!!!

I really hope David Tennant doesnt leave. Theres so many queries and guesses and i just want to know if hes actually leaving or not. I will be soo upset if he does leave, because as alot of you have said, hes been the best doctor like ever, and would miss him so much. It wouldnt be the same, and woudnt be half as good. I really dont know whats going to happen, i mean l dont actually beleive hes leaving and going to regenerate- maybe thats because i dont want him to do that! hehe, but if he were to leave, l would be soo annoyed if James Nesbitt became the Doctor, becaue i cant stand him. His acting annoys me so much. Please no! Also, l reckon Donna will die on sats ep.
Aisha, London on June 29th, 2008
I hope the doctor stays, there is no doctor who without David Tenant. Also to note:That episode was the best episode ever. it was nice to see all of the team up together.
Richard, Scotland on June 29th, 2008
Think about what has happened in the series - cloning seems to be a big part. The Sontarans cloned Martha and then the Doctors Daughter was created - she was created from the Doctor but when she died at the end of the episode she came back to life. Also as previous mentioned it was only a glancing blow by the Dalek ray not a full blown head on hit.
Christopher Saunders, Belguim on June 29th, 2008
Hes NOT GOING TO REGENERATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHO THE RED DALEK IS PLEASE!!!!
Anastacia, Leeds on June 29th, 2008
At first i didnt see the regeneration coming, what with him not meeting up properly with rose and such. But i think (and hope) David tennant will stay for a few more episodes. I never watched the really old ones beacuse im only 15 but my god DT is THE best doctor. (in my opinion, hes a great actor). But why bring rose back and not do what the fans want and give them a proper reunion. The hand is definately the key so i think the regeneration goes weird beacuse his DNA is close by in the tardis. Maybe the hand will regenerate into another doctor and there will be 2 doctors. But maybe there not identical, (maybe one could be evil) or one may only have 1 heart and so isnt really a time lord. He could then either die or stay with rose while the other doctor travels and does doctorish things, and then the world will be happy! You never know... Cant wait for next week! And also... didnt that women in the library eps who knew the doctor say that it was still him or something (because if he had regenerated he would look different, and would she recognise him?)
Stephanie, Suffolk on June 29th, 2008
I think Donna may have something to do with it, something isn't quite...human! with her...and what has happened to his daughter? The hand was bubbling as well!
Dawn, Durham on June 29th, 2008
Now as much as I love Russell Davies and adore David Tennant I have to say that in my opinion this episode was absolute pants. Too much bluff and bluster and not enough substance... I was an excited little fan-girl when I heard Davros was coming back but Caan is now as sensible as the episodes storyboard. OK - my take on the ending next week. As Sarah Jane is back on TV in December guess she will be saved by...possibly Micky teleporting in. Captain Jack has lost his team so Martha goes with him to help rebuild Torchwood. Donna goes off with "New" Doctor to a parallel world never to be seen again - until David leaves (hopefully a long time will pass) then we can see "their" adventures. Pity that as Donna was top companion for me - brilliant pairing! Jackie Tyler and Rose are killed as revenge for Rose turning Emporer Dalek to dust in series 1. And silliest of all the hand regenerates into Doctor Ten who emerges out of the Tardis, goes to lead the battle for the Shadow Proclamation (as otherwise how would they know universe one second out of sync), tells Rose how he feels about her (to bring closure to series 2), she is then cruelly taken from him...as I said earlier. At the end, he leaves alone, feeling everything is his fault, and mourning the loss of his friends. Hopefully I am wrong on all of this... Please!!!
Mike, Blackpool on June 29th, 2008
We would have heard that this was a proper regeneration, TV plotlines are never hidden these days. The next Doctor will not be and never will be a woman. This lunatic theory has gone on for years.
jsc, UK on June 29th, 2008
no way it should be nesbitt or mcshane, it should be matthew macfadyen or martin shaw or even richard armitage as the new doctor who!
Andrew, Cardiff on June 29th, 2008
i thin the key lies with the hand, i think that because that is still part of his current regeneration and that hasnt died, he cant fully regenerate, so it will only be a half regeneration which can be somehow reversed. also i dont know if anybody noticed that when he was hit by the dalek, only half of him like glowed so that could have something to do with it
Alfie, Edinburgh on June 29th, 2008
OMG! I was so gobsmacked I was not expecting that. I agree with The Master, James Nesbitt is possibly next in line to be the Doctor! He would be Ace. But I don't think DT is leaving just yet, I have so many theories, to many to list they'll be buzzing through my head all week! I can't cope with cliffhangers.
Leonie, Wakefield on June 29th, 2008
I think it's still David because the Doctor's hand was still there, in the TARDIS, so the Doctor could feed off the energy of his hand, so just the inside of his body could regenerate and not the outside....
Radiya, Romford on June 29th, 2008
the writers are so evil! i don't think there's gonna be a new doctor, in that clip the old hand was clearly visible, maybe that could make him stay the same ? if there is a new doctor [ :( ] i think Alan Davies might be a good doctor
Darren, London on June 29th, 2008
If dt is no longer the doctor then credit must go to all involved for keeping it a secret. I saw tennant in an interview 2 weeks ago saying he had no commitment beyond the end of this season, so who knows what will happen. My money is on him staying. We could get a new doctor and when the daleks are defeated and we go back to normal time he becomes tennant again.
Sarah, Cornwall on June 29th, 2008
im with richard from derby on this one James Mcavoy for sure!
Tara, Virginia USA on June 29th, 2008
Nobody can replace David. Seriously. If they can't get David back for 2010, they should let the series go quietly back into the BBC closet for another decade. Nobody does The Doctor better than David. Nobody else could even come close.
Rusell td, Cardiff on June 29th, 2008
like u all too much time on ones hands but heres my twopence worth.. the real reason the dt has filmed a "short series" for 09 is because there are 2 doctors next year.. the other filling the rest of the schudule... its all a timey wimey thing that centres around real and distorted time worlds... And u can take this theory to the bank
Paul, Chatham on June 29th, 2008
I really hope this is a fake Regeneration, otherwise the BBC will of not only of lost the best Director (Russell T Davis), but also the best EVER Doctor (David Tennant) in one series. So it's be goodbye Who again, hello repeats of Hi-De-Hi......I hear Sky one is remaking Blakes 7, cos that'll be good won't it?! (No it won't)!!
Sherman, Dublin on June 29th, 2008
I think its been a clever cover-up, creating disractons so no-one would expect Tennant to leave - the BBC seriously had the rug pulled from under them when Eccleston's departure leaked, I think the idea of the 3 specials next year were created to cover Tennants Shakespeare work - already well subscribed to, and such astory was necessary if his departure was not to leak. I think Tennants presence on the closed set for the xmas special was limited, part of a clever thought-out disinformation ploy by the bbc, and think David Morrissey will take over, and will be the star of the Xmas special
Mikey, Swansea on June 29th, 2008
I dunno why but cant get it out of my head that Tennant aint going - I got a theory that when the Doctor mentioned about the new universe being hidden in a split second of time - I think that if this is reversed, the Doctor would have time to avoid the death ray!?
Alex, Leeds on June 29th, 2008
Dont you think J J Fields would make a good Doctor. He is quite handsome yet has quite a quirky 'air' about him.
Ben Dawson on June 29th, 2008
My two probably wrong theories:
- If Davros was dragged out of the Time War, then could the butterfly effect have changed the whole war, possibly making the Time Lords exsist once again? If so, they could intervene would the regeneration process and save our 10th Doctor.
- We all saw the obvious close up of The Doctor's hand in the jar right? Could his DNA bring back the Doctor we're used to by the end of the episode? Or even perhaps give us two Doctor's... one staying in the TARDIS, another leaving with Rose and livig happily ever after? Like I say... just theories...
pe33a uk on June 29th, 2008
or maybe the Christmas special goes back in the doctors time line so he can change and he thinking what he did like a past experience who knows??? thats my idea nah he probs dont die LOL
Robert Tipping, Northolt, Middlesex on June 29th, 2008
David Tennant is in the Christmas Special this 2008 and someone else dies. I think he is just repairing his body as he only got stun by a dalek and not exactly killed. I also think that this refering to the last episode Turn left and that creature on Donna's back. Are the timelords dead in that war? and I do not thnk the doctor is the only timelord left.
Lucas, Southend on June 29th, 2008
Coming from left field here, could the doctors daughter have anything to do with this ?
Craig Alnwick on June 29th, 2008
I don't think it's real but I'd like Richard Coyle as the next Doctor
Alex, Newport on June 29th, 2008
I SAW DT filming the Christmas Special so he cant regenerate into a different body!
David, Ireland on June 29th, 2008
Seriously people just think. David Tennant has been seen film this years Christmas Special with the Cyberman. Stop giving potential new leads to The Doctor. It's not happening.
