According to the Survivor Maps website, exec producer Mark Burnett is planning a return to South America to film the new season, which is due to air this September.
The Peruvian move is thought to come after plans for a setting in the Indian Ocean were thwarted by the recent tsunami disaster.
The season is expected to go by the name Survivor: Andes.
