New 'Torchwood' is 'classier', claims star

Torchwood star Kai Owen has promised that the second season is a vast improvement on its debut year.
Owen, whose role as Gwen Cooper's reliable boyfriend Rhys will be expanded in future episodes, told icWales: "I hope it draws the crowds it deserves because it is bigger, better, classier and slicker. They have cut down on the swearing and the sex but it’s still adult, still violent, and the scripts are better, too."
The Doctor Who spin-off, which moves to BBC2 when it returns later this month, has reaped record ratings on BBC America. "I think they are enjoying the Britishness of it, even the Welshness of it," commented Owen, "because Cardiff looks fantastic and there is just nothing like it being made in this country."
