S01E03: 'Ghost Machine'

The Torchwood team pursue a man through the streets of Cardiff as he's emitting an alien energy.

Gwen retrieves a small device from his jacket that gives her a hallucinatory experience of seeing a young boy from the Second World War era speak to her.

Analysis of the device reveals that it taps into the energy left behind by strong emotions, recreating the events in front of those in possession.

Owen accidentally activates the device and finds himself witnessing the unsolved rape and murder of a young woman and is determined to bring the killer to justice from the clues he has picked up.

The Torchwood team try and track down the killer, but Gwen is fearful of the future as the alien device gives a visual premonition of her in a hysterical state wielding a blood-stained knife...
