'Skins' couple not bitter after break-up

Kaya Scodelario and Jack O'Connell have said that they are still good friends despite the end of their real life relationship

The pair, who play Effy Stonem and James Cook in E4 teen drama Skins, dated during the filming of the third series of the show but split up last year.

Scodelario told Heat: "He was very romantic... Me and Jack went out about a year-and-a-half ago and had a really good year together.

"We broke up in June and it was really friendly and I didn't meet my current boyfriend [Shameless star] Elliott [Tittensor] until the end of September, so no paths crossed at all.

"If you spend a year of your life with someone, you still care about them a lot and I didn't want to upset Jack in any way and I hope he feels the same about me."

When asked if the split was awkward, O'Connell replied: "It wasn't, man. And from an ex's point of view I'd rather Kaya go out someone I consider to be a decent fella, rather than some random. I think it would take a lot for it to be awkward between us."
