Jade - how to return gracefully?
Published Sunday, Feb 29 2004, 23:47 GMT | By Tally
Jade returned in full voice to the Mansion tonight. Despite giving Maureen and others a hug, she studiously avoided Craig.
Strenuously denying pregnancy rumours, Jade jokingly blamed her sickness on the food, saying that it was James' cooking that had been her downfall. She didn't hesitate to inform Craig that she had made the front pages. Just what Craig was hoping to hear we think! She also made it abundantly clear that she had watched quite a bit of the programme during her time away, commenting on all they had been up to, including the Children's Party.
In an interview with Nick and Uri, shown on the late night show, they both felt that it was unfair that she had been given an advantage in having access to the outside world and the media. Once you leave they both said that she shouldn't have been allowed back in.
Nick feels that Maureen and Rik have been the only two who have been genuine throughout, whereas they were both in agreement that allowing Jeff in was a big mistake. Uri feels that Jade is totally self centred and that although he doesn't dislike her, he feels that people will vote for her out of sympathy. On the other hand, he felt that Craig and James' reaction was rude, as it wasn't Jeff's fault that he was allowed in.
Pressed by Richard Bacon on whether Uri's "powers" could detect if Jade was pregnant, Uri said "absolutely not." On his predictions for the last three, Uri decided it would be Maureen, James and Jade. Time will tell if he is right.
