"I was all alright about leaving," he explained shortly after the eviction last night. "I'd just got back with Sophie from our weekend trip and I was feeling good. Kind of recharged and ready to stay longer.
"I didn't expect it but at the same time I'm really fine about it and you just don't know. Anyone can go."
The former Hollyoaks star described Sophie Anderton as "fun and an absolute nightmare", but admitted that he grew closest to bikini model Emily Scott.
"I really liked Emily," he revealed. "I wanted her to stay longer so we could spend more time together. We were just getting to a nice place so I was gutted about that. I kind of gave up after that. If there was going to be a relationship with anyone then it would have been Emily."
"I'm very glad I returned to Love Island, I absolutely loved it," he added. "It was beautiful, I had the best time, met some amazing people. Just a privilege to be back."
