Cowell tips girl for 'Pop Idol' win

Simon Cowell thinks that the current series of Pop Idol will be won by a girl.
"You have to go with your gut reaction and this year I think a girl may win," said Cowell at last night's National TV Awards. "There are five or six people who could win it this year. Last year, after seeing the first show, it was obvious it was Will or Gareth."
His comments are reflected in the bookmakers odds on the title, who have Susanne a 5/2 red hot favourite.
Cowell also predicted that eventually the series would find a winner who would have global appeal.
"We have to keep Will and Gareth successful so that people know Pop Idol is a prize worth winning and then you hope we will find a break-out international star. That will happen," he said. "Does that international star exist in this country? Yes. We've just got to find them. They could be in the US or in the UK but they are out there."
