Ant and Dec to quit 'Pop Idol'?

Ant and Dec are to quit as hosts of Pop Idol, according to The Mirror today.
The newspaper reports that the Geordie duo will leave the show after its current series comes to a close.
"The boys have both enjoyed the success of Pop Idol but now they are very keen to concentrate on shows which don't just involve turning up and reading the autocue," said an unnamed ITV executive at Tuesday's National TV awards.
Ant and Dec - who picked up two awards at the ceremony - will instead spend more time working on their general entertainment series Saturday Night Takeaway, which has just been sold in America.
"It is the series that means the most to them because the whole show is about them entertaining the public - not other people," the source added. "They are really excited about taking the show to the US and if it works out they are likely to spend six months of the year over there and six months over here."
