The Vicar bows out in 'Pop Idol'
Chris Hyde has become the latest contestant to be eliminated as Pop Idol shuffles closer to its climax.

A Christmas-themed show saw good performances from all four but it was Mark who was singled out by the judges as the weakest link.

The vote was tighter than most had expected, however - just a 1% margin between the bottom two - so many gasps were abound when Chris was identified as the one getting the boot.

He too seemed shocked by the result, but made the obligatory thanks to the voters whilst fighting back tears.

Next week the remaining three will perform songs chosen by the judges.
