Fearne Cotton voted out in 'Fame Academy'
Published Saturday, Mar 8 2003, 20:18 GMT | By Neil Wilkes
Fearne Cotton has been voted out of Celebrity Fame Academy this evening.
As a result of the public vote -- in which she polled 44% -- Jo Brand was saved, leaving Fearne and Doon Mackichan.
The responsibility of which of the two would leave then fell upon the remaining six students, who had to vote for who they wanted to stay in the academy.
Kwame went first, picking Doon because "she gave a fantastic performance this evening."
Ruby chose Doon because "she will end up a popstar", followed by John who went for Doon "purely on tonight's performance."
Ulrika was next, selecting Fearne, then Will, who voted for Doon as "she was the best on the night."
Jo chose Doon also: "Secretly she's my grandmother and it's family that counts."
At the end of the programme, a split decision amongst the teachers meant four students were put on probation -- Jo, Will, John and Ruby.
Celebrity Fame Academy airs Sunday at 19.20 on BBC One.
