Preview: Rose returns in 'Doctor Who'

This week on Doctor Who, Rose is back. But The Doctor....

... is dead.

'Out Of Time' aka 'Turn Left'
That's right, it's finally time for Billie Piper's PROPER return as Rose Tyler. But don't go expecting a reunion with Mr Who just yet, because within the first ten minutes our beloved Doctor is dead.

What if Donna had never met the Doctor on her wedding day? What if she'd never even got engaged at all? These are some of the questions this episode asks - and answers, in quick succession.

The future's bleak
It's pretty obvious what the world would be like without the Doctor in it. Death, misery and all manner of terrible things would ensue. We cycle through the recent history of Doctor Who as history is rewritten and lives are lost.

The one person that seems to hold the key to it all - albeit unwittingly - is Donna. Helping her come to terms with her newly-found VIP status is Rose, who has been dragged from her parallel world to help sort out the ruddy mess.

Rose du Jour
Ahhh yes, Rose. Come Saturday, when this episode airs, I predict much division over the return of Miss Tyler.

Unfortunately it seems that Billie's comments about "forgetting" Rose's voice are actually valid. This isn't quite the Rose we remember - in fact, she sounds more like her high-class ITV2 alter-ego than chav queen Rose.

Who said What?
Here are some select quotes from the episode, with the now-customary stars inserted to keep you wondering. Add your guesses at the end of the column!

"It's like there's something I can't see."
"This stapler says '***'."
"I think you should leave me alone."
"You're not going to make the world any better by shouting at it."
"Why won't you tell me **** ****?"
"England for the English."

One more thing...
Something BIG is coming.

Billie coming back is bloody amazing! Her and the Doctor belong together, I'm happy she has some part of the doctor but he has nothing, and its still not the same hes still not the doctor, I hope Rose comes back again, before David leaves the show, because Billie and David are the best together!

What's going on with Rose's teeth? They seem HUGE! Has she had surgery or perhaps lost a power of weight? Whatever, she just looks odd! Bring back the pretty Billie Piper we all love!

the best thing about the final two episode is that sarah jane and her crew is going to be there, jack and his crew from tourchwoods going to be there, the daleks and bad wolf is a real combination, then martha jones from units going to be involved, and rose tyler has came back too. an the most importantly doctor and donna! but the main buzz of the show is that everybody is on earth but the doctor is stuck on another world and the tardis is ill. CANT WAIT!!

Oh my god! I was soooooo happppiiiii when i heard Rose is coming back. I cried when she went to the parellel universe and I really want Rose and the Doctor to be back together again saving civilazations. Moreover it would be really great if the Doctor and Rose get to finish off their conversation before the image of the Doctor went off on the last episode of series two. I really really hope she is back for good!! Love to DW!

I was really looking forward to Rose coming back but what has happened to her Voice????? it spoils it for me....Sad face

Well she's back and I can't say I'm happy to see her even if the Doctor will be. Rose to me has never been the most intresting companion and she wouldn't even make my top five to bring back, but RTD loves her so what can you do?
Nat, Manchester, on June 19th, 2008
Personally, I liked the character of Rose but then went off her with the following years of fan-girly-ness from my friends and everywhere doctor who related. Still, this episode looks good but I just hope that Rose doesn't come back permanently...mainly because the show would self-implode (as I word it) if she did come back (Doomsday and all that). Overall, my favourite companion is Donna, she's the most realistic - not everyone has the hots for David Tennant.

Stavros is coming back? Will he pop up and say 'ello peeps! And that will be the big cliffhanger ending?
Chloe, Dorset, on June 19th, 2008
I'm overjoyed that Rose is back! The moment she left, I had high hopes for her return, and its finally happened! I cannot WAIT to see the look on Martha's face when she meets Rose, and to see the reunion between her and the doctor!

Rose is back. :-) Yay. Now just get rid of Catherine Tate for good and that will be excellent, thank you very much. :-)
Gerri, Darwen, on June 19th, 2008
Steve.... Noooooo its Stavros - he's going to take over the world one big cheap orange thing at a time ;)
Ellie, Gloucestershire, on June 19th, 2008
Donna is amazing, but Rose was the first companion I ever watched with DW, and for me, the show was as much about her as it was about the Doctor. I am so happy that she's returning, and I'm sure this finale is going to be incredible, despite my apprehensions over how she's going to leave again...
Steve, Bristol, on June 19th, 2008
Faye if he's your favourite enemy, you should know his name is Davros not Stavros :P I'm looking forward to the return of Rose as well...as much as I've enjoyed the past couple of seasons, it hasn't quite been the same since Rose left! Be interesting to see how she's coped without the Doctor the past 2 years.
Jack, Bristol, on June 19th, 2008
Possibly the most over-rated and boring companion ever. Why bring Rose back? Martha and Donna run rings around her. Lets hope we never see her again. xD!!
Jakki, Oxford, on June 18th, 2008
I am really looking forward to this episode as Rose was just the best. The voice thing doesn't matter as that can be explained away. My only problem is having an episode without the Doctor. Please tell me that he is in some of it at least. I'm afraid that Donna's incredulous and angry acting is pure Tate and will always be seen as such in my eyes. It ruins her credibility for me.
Neil, Wales, on June 18th, 2008
I can't wait for Rose to come back - she's the best companion the doctor had!
M, USA, on June 18th, 2008
Even a 900 year-old Time Lord needs a soulmate and love and if he feels that for Rose then godspeed. . I am looking forward to the return of Miss Tyler. I used to be critical of her but have come to better appreciate her importance in modern Who.
Roger, Cambridgeshire, on June 18th, 2008
Looking good with Rose returning. I like the Donna thing with the doc, but Rose, Wow!!
