Preview: A 'Doctor Who' reunion

Prepare to fanw*** yourselves silly.

This week on Doctor Who there's the mother of all reunions. In 'The Stolen Earth' - the first episode of the two-part finale - our planet is suddenly plucked from the solar system and deposited (along with 26 others) in a place far, far away.

Donna and The Doctor are left clueless in the TARDIS, which is hovering in the empty space where the Earth used to be. Meanwhile, on Earth itself, mass panic and hysteria reigns. Companions from the past start to band together to summon the Doctor and save the world from "the darkness".

This means the return of Martha Jones, on assignment for UNIT in New York; Captain Jack, who appears in the Torchwood hub alongside Gwen and Ianto; and Sarah Jane, together with son Luke and trusty computer Mr. Smith.

Oh, and what about Rose? Well, she decides to pay Donna's parents a visit and misses out on a lot of the action. But she deserves a reunion too, doesn't she? Yes. Yes she does.

Your questions
Time now for some of your burning questions about the Doctor Who finale...

Howdy Neil, Loving TubeTalk as usual, but i'm a bit concerned...... I am a BIG Doctor Who fan, but with all the spoilers (:S) on the Forums, etc, and we know that all the old assistants are back, but i'm abit worried were in for a bit of Bloodshed.... could you confirm or deny this... or give us a hint which Who Assistant may be for the chop?! Heres hoping its Martha Jones...

James, From Chester

Neil: Let's put it this way: a female we know very well is exterminated this weekend.

in the final two episodes of doctor who will rose get to see the doctor?

enya

Neil: It would be very cruel if she didn't, wouldn't it now? They wouldn't be that cruel.

Do you know if there is any news on the Series 5 companion in Doctor Who? Is Billie Piper or Freema Agyeman returning for a further stint?

Michael Anderson

Neil: We don't even know for certain that David Tennant has signed up for series five yet - although from everything I've heard, he will be on board. As far as assistants go, we know that Catherine Tate won't be back as Donna, and I doubt Freema will be on board the TARDIS again any time soon. Who would you like to see? Add your comments at the end of this entry.

Will we find out what has happened to all the bees?

Mick

Neil: Ahh yes, the mystery of the disappearing bees. This will be answered. The question isn't really why they are going, but where to?

ok i gessed davros was comeing back but can you tell us if the doctors old frend k-9 is to make an aperance at eny time please. thanks

lucas

Neil: Ahhh yes, Davros. I almost overlooked that. Davros - creator of the Daleks - doesn't feature too heavily in this week's episode (next week he really shines). He's not quite what he used to be. Literally. There's no sign of K-9 in the finale, unfortunately. He must be too busy guarding that black hole.

Who said What?
Here are some select quotes from the episode, with the now-customary stars inserted to keep you wondering. Add your guesses at the end of the column!

"My vision is not impaired."

Never mind a female DOCTOR, what about a MALE ASSISTANT for a change?? And no, i don't mean a 'gay' male assistant! I mean, why does it have to be a woman, at all?? How about Mickey The Idiot?! Now The Doctor no longer SEES him as an idiot, he'd be ideal!

I want rose and the doctor to kiss and have their romantic reunion i love donna and sarah jane as well and i want martha to die i cant stand her because rose got there first!!
Fayth, on July 3rd, 2008
With the companion dying has anyone thought about the TARDIS being destroyed and something happens and the doctor gets a new one or it comes back to him because if i remember rightly the doctor has stated that the TARDIS is a great companion.

No K9??? That is cruel!!! He's the only companion that appeared in the old and new Series *not* to show up? That's just mean - what is responsible for him not appearing, that tiresome bit of tiff between BB and BBC? Can you comment?
Scififan, on June 29th, 2008
I heard that the doctor regenerates into a woman killing all possibility for a continued relationship with Rose. (Not enough money in the BBC budget to convince Billie into it...)

like all companions, love tennantxxx and would die rather than wait a whole week 4 journey's end - it was harriet jones who died you thickos!!!! would love doc & rose to have their romantic reunion - do u agree LOL

Thanks for the knowlege you have given o great god! Lol. Only 58 mins to go! I dunno what I'd do without you. Lol
Ada, UK, on June 28th, 2008
Well, I personally hope it is Martha that dies. Rose is my fave, I cannot wait for her reunion with the doctor!!! He better finish those words from the beach in Norway... I thought I wouldn't like Donna aswell, but throughout this series I actualy quite like her and will be sad when she dies. But Rose is still the best, and even though Martha is going to torchwood, I want her to die >=( She fell in love with the doctor; the doctor is Rose's!!
Rusty, The Midlands, on June 27th, 2008
I reckon Harriet Jones is going to die, there was that speculation of her being a Dalek and we do know her VERY well...she keeps flashing that 'Harriet Jones, PM' card about.
Malen, US, on June 27th, 2008
A female we know is it exterminated. Weird as it may sound, I wonder if that's referring to the TARDIS. The Doctor always does call her "she." Furthermore, we do know her very well. Hell we have 30+ years of history.
Dee, Norfolk, on June 27th, 2008
Wow, someone's going to get exterminated?! It'll probably be Donna but fingers crossed it's Martha. Honestly can't wait till tomorrow!
Rod, Newhaven, on June 26th, 2008
Martha: Full of potential. Could be great. Rose: Seems to have grown up. More responsible, less chav. Donna: Interesting. Has her moments. More in the action because she has to rather than getting stuck in. Wouldn't worry me if she was "retired" Sally Sparrow: Will definitely turn up sooner or later. Whenever you need an additional Time Lord on your side... River: Alex kingston has a presence. That machine River was saved in can "re-instate" the poeple it has saved. No biggie there then. Some interesting possibilities for a time travelling archeologist. What I really want is some d*mn good stories that make me want to watch. Its been really good since its return. Long may it continue. ... now technology is better, maybe they could consider the return of the mechanoids... (now Im showing my age)
Row, Chicago, on June 26th, 2008
I've enjoyed season 4, but truly i've just been waiting on pins and needles for Rose and her Doctor to be reunited. I hope it's not a let down.
Sara, London , on June 26th, 2008
I'd never understand Martha bashing. She kicked everyone's ass when she was on screen. A great combo of and action - brought a dimension to the show for those of us sick and tired of Rose's tears and clinging in the second series. Face it ppl even the 'new' 'independent' Rose is everything Martha was and is. For those of us that actually liked the companions with maturity, and a sense of adventure, a long with pulling a couple of heartstrings, both Donna and Martha are perfect. If they kill either of them off I'll HATE the bbc forever. Sorry I used to 'like' Rose (never hated her as such but never my fav companion) but I reckon she just doesn't fit Doctor Who anymore
Amber, Manchester, on June 26th, 2008
As a post on Rose's return said - 'Rose is the most overrated and boring companion ever. Martha and Donna run rings around her.' Ditto. So the question of who to kill off is quite straight forward in my eyes.
Sami age 13, Aylesbury, on June 26th, 2008
I wish Rose was back for a while but the others are cool, but to be honest I'm jelous of anyone who kisses the Doctor!!
Diana, Reading, on June 26th, 2008
I can't believe Donna will not be back. She has given more depth to this gorgeous series than any other companion and I did like Rose. Donna makes it full and atmospheric. I bet it is Donna that dies if she is not coming back next series then it is bound to be her. Wails hysterically.
Nicola, Liverpool, on June 26th, 2008
I think it will be Donna who dies, even though i dont want her too. The prediction in the black hole for Rose came true as she was listed dead on Earth. ROSE FOR S5 COMPANION!
Charlie, Essex, on June 26th, 2008
i want all of the companions to come back could it be a possibility if maybe sarah jane smith came back
Victoria, on June 26th, 2008
Since all of this series has seemingly centered around donna, all linked to her in some small way surely it must be her that dies.
