Neil: The second season is confirmed - and I must admit, I took a liking to it too. It's real "guilty pleasure" territory, no? Unfortunately there have been some real-life dramas surrounding the production of the new season. Filming was completely halted when the new showrunner stepped down from the job after just four months in the role. Meanwhile, Samaire Armstrong has been demoted from series regular status after "personal issues" forced her to check into rehab.


Hello Neil. Is it true series 3 of Torchwood is only going to be 5 episodes long?

Neil: It's totally true. The new series begins filming in August for transmission early in 2009 on BBC One. There's also a strong possibility that it will be stripped across a week, as the new episodes are linked by a central plotline.


Hi Neil! Any news on the Spooks spinoff? I thought it was meant to have started by now!

Neil: Filming on Spooks: Code 9 finished a good couple months ago now, and transmission is planned for the autumn. The basic premise involves a nuclear bomb. What else would you like to know?

Neil: You know what? I loved it too! This is exactly the kind of thing E4 should be doing: original, clever series that nail their target audience. A second series is currently being developed for transmission early next year. Meanwhile the first series is expected to go out on Channel 4 later this year.

Neil: The cat is now finally out of the bag and a fifth series has been confirmed. Adrian Lester is back, but Marc Warren and Jaime Murrary are not. My cryptic clue on the fate of the series can also now be revealed: "It's a yes, but there are still is to be dotted and ts to be crossed." Shame on those who began calling me a big fat liar.

Neil: There is absolutely nothing to report as of yet. Predictably, the shows most sought-after by the UK broadcasters include Dollhouse and Fringe. Both seem destined for Sky One, if you ask me.

Neil: Dirt has been dropped. Ratings for the second season - shortened to just seven episodes because of the strike - fell by more than a third in the US.


Hi, about Supernatural...when is season 4 gonna show on ITV2? Because I could swear I heard the t.v. voiceover man say that it will follow straight on from the finale of season three! Can you confirm or deny this for me? Also I heard a rumour that BBC2 are gonna show season three of Heroes in september, same tym as America! Can you also confirm or deny this? Thank You xxx

Neil: Supernatural season four will NOT follow straight on from season three, unfortunately, on account of it not being filmed yet. January 2009 is a more realistic expectation. The rumours about Heroes season three ARE correct, however. From the Autumn the show is likely to air on BBC Two with a Sky-style fast turnaround.
