Production on the fourth series of ITV's popular family drama Wild At Heart has begun in South Africa. Fancy some spoilers? Read on!

This series there's a new vet on the scene in the form of Alice Collins (Dawn Steele, Sea Of Souls). This "feisty" arrival joins Danny - still in mourning for his wife - to help out in the increasingly busy animal hospital.

Meanwhile, in the light of Sarah's passing, the courts are threatening to send Evan back to his biological father in the UK.

Another new face is Caroline's sister Georgina (Juliet Mills), who is sent to take care of Du Plessis. Caroline remains in the UK with Rosie. Worry not, both characters remain in the show.

Elsewhere, struggling neighbour reserve Mara is bought by glamorous South African businesswoman Vanessa (Mary-Anne Barlow), who is determined to restore the reserve to its former glory. She also takes a shine to our widow...

am looking forward to the new series, will be interesting to see how they can move forward from the death.. I love du plessis, and think with him, danny and caroline/rosie and the kids, they can still make something special.. =) I also enjoyed Jessie wallace in the show too, maybe she will return?

I hope Jessie Wallace returns, she added something new to the show. Gave it some comedy edge. Loved her in it. Amanda Holden was amazing in the show, but i support her decision to leave. She will be missed.

Hmmm... so will Caroline and Rosie get any screentime at all? Or are they not in it anymore? As much as I enjoy the show, I'm not sure it will be as good without Amanda Holden. It wasn't her that made the show good to start with, but without her... It depends how they handle it. They can't have them move on too quickly, but at the same time they can't let it be too much of a negative factor. And I think introducing someone who may be interested in Danny is a bit of a risky move...

Does this mean Lucy Jo Hudson, Hayley Mills and Jessie Wallace have left?
