A closer look at ITV2's Autumn lineup
Published Wednesday, Aug 20 2008, 11:29 BST | By Neil Wilkes | 30 comments

Here are the highlights:
- Entourage season five, airing just a few days after it goes out in the US. Premieres on September 11.
- ITV2's first ever originally-commissioned sitcom No Heroics, starring James Lance and Patrick Baladi
- CelebAir, a weekly reality show following a group of celebrities turning trolley dollies
- Secret Diary Of A Call Girl series two from September 11 (check back for an exclusive clip tomorrow!)
- A second run of Katy Brand's Big Ass Show from September 2. I've seen the first episode and it's improved significantly on last year: better writing, more spoof music videos and a hilarious take on The Queen
- A new exclusive reality show featuring Paris Hilton (probably along the lines of Living With Kimberly Stewart). Actually part of the 2009 lineup but announced yesterday
- A new series of Jack Osbourne's Adrenaline Junkie, with celebrities as the contestants
- Spinoff show I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here Now!, fronted by Mark Durden-Smith in the UK and Emma Griffiths and Matt Willis in Oz
- The Fashion Show, hosted by a triumverate including George Lamb, Michelle de Swarte and Abi Clancy. No further explanation needed
- Season four of Hell's Kitchen USA with Gordon "f***ing" Ramsay
- Another new series of Katie & Peter: The Next Chapter, which coincidentally comes as the couple plan to renew their wedding vows
- Celebrity Juice, a new weekly topical panel show hosted by Keith Lemon, with Fearne Cotton (old Xtra Factor host) and Holly Willoughby (new Xtra Factor host) as team captains

Dire. But do we blame the TV station or the british viewing public. Perhaps this dumbing down of the entertainment is for all the dumb people out there who want to watch this garbage?

Im not waiting till next year to watch Gossip Girl and Supernatural. Its an outrage. Looks like i'll be using my usual sources. I wish ITV2 never showed them. Its as bad as E4s treatment of One Tree Hill in the past.

No Heroics is about the mudane lives of four superheroes. Can't wait to see what's on the other side, can you?

As usual this is a complete waste of space. Why any one would watch ITV 1, 2, 3 OR 4 is beyond me. Please advertisers stop supporting ITV, they are taking up valueable frequency space that could be used for non soap/celeb tv that may be worth wathing. Signed A non ITV viewer for at least 10 years

I really don't get some people on here. You are all saying it's a waste of time for ITV2 - but it isn't. The channel is still top of the multichannel list. The channel is getting more popular as the months and years go on. If you find the programming distasteful and pathetic, you don't have to watch (or pay) for it!

If they can air the new season of Entourage a few days after it goes out in the US then why can't they do the same with Supernatural. The new season starts in the US on September 18th, it just seems very unfair that we have to wait until January at the very earliest to see it when they can pull the strings for one show but not the other!

Utter crap except for the new series of Entourage. Saves me downloading it I suppose if they are showing it close to the US airing.

Where is The Office? After all, we are still one whole (though shortened due to the writer's strike) season behind the US and the new one will be on soon as well over there. If they can do that for Entourage, why not catch up with The Office as well?

I'm guessing we won't be seeing Supernatural in the UK this year? That is disgraceful. I'm guessing ITV want ratings to be low, because if they're going to wait a long time to show the decent programs such as Supernatural, then people are going to find other ways to watch it. I'm guessing ITV arn't looking at what the competitors are doing then? It's disgraceful.

Apart from Entourage you might as well re-name ITV2 as "cant be bothered in investing in real programmes with talented actors" channel. What is it with channels relying so heavily on reality tv? Am i the only one getting tired of watching has beens and never will be's trying to secure a future in tv - give it up already. I just wish that channels like ITV2 didnt encourage these talentless wasters go and get a real job.
