Not quite a Q&A, but close...

Published Saturday, Aug 30 2008, 08:04 BST | By Neil Wilkes | 5 comments
OK, so this isn't a full-blown edition of the Q&A that you all know and love, but perhaps it's even better. In a slight change to proceedings, this edition I'm going to solve some of the questions you've been harassing me about the most over the last few weeks. Hurrah!

Q: Has Samantha Who? been picked up in the UK?
A: Finally, it has! E4 has picked up season one of the comedy series, about a woman who is knocked down in a hit-and-run accident but then wakes up with amnesia. Yeah, I said comedy. It premieres Thursday, September 11 at 10pm, the same time as Call Girl season two kicks off on ITV2.

Q: When will Desperate Housewives season five air on Channel 4?
A: After the debacle that led to the postponement and subsequent bisection of season four, Channel 4 has a treat in store for Housewives fans. I hear that season five will follow straight on from season four in October, putting us on a delay of around four weeks from the US.

Q: When is Grey's Anatomy returning to Living?
A: Good news! The season four premiere has been booked in for Thursday, September 11 at 10pm. That's at the same time as Call Girl, Samantha Who? and Entourage. This is the kind of occasion Sky+ and timeshift channels were invented for, I'm sure you'll agree.

Q: Where the hell is Medium season four?
A: Woah, calm down there, sailor. After some "scheduling issues", the return of Medium is now guaranteed. Catch the new season from next Wednesday (September 3) at 10.45pm on BBC One.

Q: Is Kyle XY ever returning to BBC Two?
A: The final few episodes of season one were due to return to BBC Switch this weekend but have now been postponed until next January. In its place? The first ten episodes of Greek, which gets a daytime outing following its recent run on BBC Three.

Q: Has Eli Stone been picked up in the UK yet?
A: A pickup was confirmed this week. The taker? Step forward... Sci-Fi Channel! A slightly unusual home, but I'm sure no-one is bothered. It starts October 6 at 9pm.

Q: Will Burn Notice ever be shown in the UK?
A: FX has picked up the rights to this series, about an intelligence agent who is suddenly blacklisted by his superiors. The show airs Sundays at 9pm from October 5. FX has also acquired Re-Genesis, Underbelly and Breaking Bad. Full details on the airdates for these, plus a whole host of new and returning series, can be found over on The PLP.

That's all for this edition! The regular Q&A will be back soon; abuse my face at the top of the page to submit a question. Meantime if you have any comments on the shows in this particular entry, add them below!

I'm glad it got the dvds of Kyle XY now, what are the BBC playing at!

Kyle XY really deserves a prime time slot, obviously this isn't going to happen on BBC1 or 2 but Sunday nights on BBC3 would suit it I think. Either at 8pm - it could be the Heartbeat alternative! - or 9pm after Spooks:Code 9 finishes it's run (they could keep 9pm as a drama slot then)

That's brilliant news about Desperate Housewives; thanks for that! :) Shame about BBC delaying Kyle XY as it's such a brilliant show which deserves far, far better. If they're still in season one though, I wonder why they released the DVD...

Wow, I thought the BBC had stopped treating series with such disdain. Kyle XY will never build a fan base on BBC as a result of this! Any chance it could go back to Trouble?
