Meet the new 'Big Brother' housemates
Published Thursday, Oct 16 2008, 11:23 BST | By Neil Wilkes | 10 comments
From a camp bitch to a wannabe glamour girl and an obnoxious lager lout, the latest lineup of Big Brother contestants is arguably the most compelling yet. Read on for profiles of the new batch of housemates - and ask yourself, 'who would survive the longest?'
Veronica
Applied to Big Brother to realise her dream of becoming famous. Is interested in a career as a TV presenter, Hollyoaks actress or Page 3 girl. Sleeps with fellow contestant Marky in order to improve her chances.
Space
"Smart, fiery and a loner", Space is paranoid and mistrusting of those around him. Gained his nickname at school because he was "always off in his own universe". Strikes up a friendship with fellow contestant Pippa, who he feels is bullied by others in the group.
Pippa
Has irritated the house and the public in equal measure. Most consider her naivety, ignorance and tendency to turn on the waterworks to be nothing more than an act for the cameras. Has been up for eviction every week for the last three weeks.
Marky
A lager lout who is easy with the tongue and prone to causing arguments. Considers himself a "born comedian" and loves to break wind for comic effect. Has already bedded wannabe glamour girl Veronica.
Joplin
This "pompous bore" is the most hated housemate with the viewing public. Has a speech for every occasion, no matter how trivial the subject matter. His surreptitious ogling of the women, particularly Veronica, has earned him the nickname 'Gollum'.
Grayson
Camp and bitchy Grayson is the public's favourite housemate. Before entering the house, he performed a nightclub drag act blending torch songs with a comedy routine. Is the prime target of Marky's vindictive pranks.
Angel
A 26-year-old from east London, Angel describes herself as "straight-talking and someone who tells it as it is". Has no time for Pippa's tears or Veronica's deluded ambitions. Becomes Grayson's partner-in-crime, gossiping and bitching about the other housemates behind their backs.
Tune in for the latest eviction show on Monday, October 27 at 10pm on E4!
Now, in case you hadn't twigged yet, this entry relates to Dead Set, Charlie Brooker's new Big Brother-themed zombie drama for E4. Check back in tonight for my verdict on the series, but for now, here's a hint: "Absolute ******!"
Any guesses? Add your comments to this entry below!

From the previews this looks like it could be a 'one off' classic remembered for many years, and its fantastic that the climax in on Haloween itself.

I can't bloody wait for this - the trailers look fantastic, like it's been really sharply observed and scripted... and Zombie Davina looks terrifying!
