E4 zombie drama 'Dead Set': Any good?

And the verdict is...

Absolute genius!

From everything we've heard about new Big Brother-meets-zombies drama Dead Set to date, you'd be forgiven for thinking that Charlie Brooker's new project is a spoof/quite cheesy/otherwise preposterous.

It's actually far from it (aside from a ridiculously characterised executive producer). This is a serious drama, a credible horror, set against the backdrop of the Big Brother circus.

The scene where Davina succumbs to proceedings is particularly poignant - and if you were a Davina hater before, you may find some respect for her through this. (For the record, I'm not.)

The five ep series is stripped across Halloween week on E4, beginning Monday, October 27 at 10pm.

I thought the zombies were poorly executed and it's too dark an franctic, whats funny is it's getting less and less ppl watching it mon- 1.2 million tue-822,000 thur-676,000. that's kinda of a let down for them

I've seen the whole thing, and believe me, it's great. The trailer doesn't do it justice, you're right.

Am I the only one who thinks this looks crap? The trailers I've saw do it no justice, and the acting is terrible.

I can't wait.... :-)

I couldn't agree more. This show is a combination of a great script, great direction, and some surprisingly good acting from some previously unconvincing actors. It just proves that the UK can make good drama TV, and we need more people like Charlie Brooker to start a revolution, so can bring an end to dire programmes we get continuously fed from ITV and the BBC.

I'm a massive fan of all Charlie Brooker's work so this should be inspired stuff.

The trailer does this show no justice, it makes it look terrible - from acting to everything. How many episodes have you saw? Because it's not looking good for me...
