Those classic Christmas ghost stories of old return this year with the three-part Crooked House.

From The League of Gentlemen's Mark Gatiss, the drama revolves around the discovery of a big old knocker and the ghostly connections it has. Each of the three episodes is set at a different time in the knocker's history - the first is in Georgian times, the next is in the 1920s and the final is in the present day. Crooked House begins tonight at 10.30pm on BBC Four. For more from Mr Gatiss, click here to read our interview.
