Entire 'Skins' cast axed again

After the first two series of Skins, the producers made the shock decision to axe the entire cast while they were still in their prime (RIP Chris, so long Tony, etc.)
Now, with filming on the fourth series getting underway in Bristol, TT has learned that 'The Gang 2.0' have also been given their marching orders. This will clear the way for another new cast of youths should Skins be recommissioned for its fifth series in 2011.
We hooked up with the cast backstage at T4 On The Beach yesterday to learn more. Hit 'play' below to see our interviews:

I have loved both casts from skins so far. The first change was a shock to me, but I quickly fell in love with the new characters. If the producers do as good a job as last time I think we\'ll all be happy. I know I will!!

they havent axed them they do this every two series because its the new school students in college each time. and they're making a film to be relased summer2011 with both generations in so its not exactly goodbye is it?

Everyone whose pissed about the cast being axed, i can understand totally where your coming from, but look at what people felt when the first cast got axed, it was the same, and not everyone but most people have warmed in the same way to this cast, just wait till series 5 comes out, give them a chance, then make your minds up, you never know, it could be just as good as 1 and 2 if not better, lets all hold our horses and make our judgement once we've actually seen it :)

I think that the cast for series 4 was the best, the story lines were interesting and gripping and they were just great characters. I am not sure that any other cast would get me hooked as much as these did and I think it was a mistake to axe them again

Skins will never be as good again as it was in Season 1 and Season 2. I warmed to the new kids though by the end of season 3 but now season 4 is just, well, terrible! Boring, predictable, cheesey and unrealistic. Go for it E4, axe these kids, and don't come back Skins,, let us just remember you as you were; fresh, real, grungy and beautiful,, (:

I miss the old cast so much. The new one is nothing compared to them. I didn't like the second series too much, to tell you the truth. I couldn't relate to any of them like i did in series 1. I think it's definitley time for a change and i'm excited for the new cast. (:

I think they should bring back the cast of the first and second series. They were the best series made. They could do series 5 with the entire casts of all series baring chris obviously to show where tony, chelle, cass, sid, jal anwar and maxxie have gone with their lives and have a finally. That would be immence!!

Noooo way! You need to keep the current cast as they are amazing! The fans have to learn to love new characters which loses viewings, but if the current cast are kept, everybody will be happy!

i do miss the first generation of skins still. but im glad they're doing this. the show is so popular and its kindof like an actor development course. it gives the kids a chance to make it into the business and its great that they are mixing it up. every season a character gets an episode focused on them which allows them to develop their acting skills. its a great program they have and an even better show!

it was bad enough that they got axed the frist cast but to do it again is just wrong i just got to love the new cast now i would have to do it again :(

I think there should be a mix of both the 1st and second cast. to be honest i really prefer this cast but definately some of the old cast would mix things up a bit and could make series 5 amazing

i think third series was just sheer genious, and loved it in all honesty this cast is and most likely will be the best cast theyl have looking forward to series four to see what happens with naomi and emily, katy freddie effy and cook and see if someone new comes for poor old j-j.

I think they should keep the new cast as they are all very intresting charters and plus if they axe this cast what are they going to do next get a new cast and axe them to...... The fourth series starts next summer 2010 and they are thinking about making a film

i also think at least some of these characters should remain for a fifth series for some internal continuity the actors could show even more depth to their characters then, even if series 4 will already feature a deeper, darker tone personally, my fave is def luke pasqualino/freddie :)

they sholud keep them for a 5th series because it wont be the same or bring in the old class and mix it up that will good to watch like tony and cook and they should keep emliy and noami togather
