Ready to see some of 'The Prisoner'?

It feels like the new version of The Prisoner has been in the works forever. We first heard about the project back at the start of 2006 and now, four years on, the cult series will finally make it to air in November.
And here's the first glimpse at footage from the series, courtesy of an extended nine-minute video preview we told you about at Comic-Con a few weeks ago. Hit 'play' below to see:

Absolutely terrible. Low budget is supposed to mean room to experiment, not create soap-opera-style garbage. The acting is especially bad. Where is the sense of style? Feels like a bad remake of "The Truman Show". All remaking the Prisoner today does is show how creatively bankrupt we have become in cotrast to the 60s.

This looks terrible, yet another classic TV show regurgitated for an american audience. Why not try some original ideas...

Just a quickie. Check the Scene with Rover popping out of the sand. Is that the Twin Towers behind it, in some sort of mirrored camouflage??

The original was an acid trip that made no sense. This looks interesting, but I think I'd get frustrated with it after a few eps - would just want to know the answers. The village looks like its set in Dubai. Love the balls - much better than the original.

Looks good! I have the original on DVD so I know what to expect, I just hope they don't fluff it up like they did with Life on Mars US. The "old man" they refer to. You don't see much of him in the trailer, but could he be the original Number 6?? The voice could be a very old, very tired Patrick, and his clothing is very similar... Just hope it's not one of those "he's in a coma" things :(

Looks BRILLIANT! Like they've taken the concept of the prisoner and worked a new version around it that is not a simple retelling of the classic. Seems very Now, and I for one am looking forward to it. Even though I never did like the original....

This actually looks rather good and I'm especially glad that they appear to have kept the big white balls. Being an American remake one had visions of giant cheeseburgers or the disembodied heads of Mitt Romney and Jerry Seinfeld.

Looks absolutely brilliant. Nice to see Ian McKellen on a telly series, and as a regular no less. The other cast all look relatively unknown and that's nice, too; gives it a more realistic feel.

How does it look? One word: stylish. Love the original series, but this looks like it might be a remake that is above all else respectful to the source material. Will watch and find out...

The original is a classic and as such will be very hard to live up to. Half of what made it so good was the surrealism of the setting, it seemed so ridiculous you had to laugh, it was quite tongue in cheek, this new version is in danger of taking it's self too seriously and loosing the sense of fun of the original, will still give it a go though!
