Meet the new 'Housewives' family!
Published Thursday, Sep 3 2009, 16:14 BST | By Dan French | 2 comments
Desperate Housewives has a bit of a tradition of bringing in a new family to Wisteria Lane at the start of a season - the second saw the introduction of the Applewhites; the Mayfairs moved in at the start of season four, and Bob & Lee followed shortly after.
This season, creator Marc Cherry is giving us... The Bolens:

So, let's get to know the newcomers. Head of the American-Italian Housewives clan is former Sopranos/Joey star Drea de Matteo, who stars as the "loving but tough" Angie. She is joined by the recently-cast Jeffrey Hordling (seen on the last season of 24 as Larry Moss) and 20-year-old Beau Mirchoff, who play her husband Nick and son Danny respectively.
Little is known about handyman Nick, but Mirchoff describes his character Danny as "a little sullen and very peculiar - not like normal 19-year-old kids. He had to leave everything he was doing in New York, so now he's kind of lost. He's got some issues he's dealing with but those won't be discovered until a little later as the series goes on."
As their predecessors, the Applewhites and the Mayfairs, were both heavily involved in season-long mysteries, it's safe to assume the Bolens will be causing havoc around Wisteria Lane, right? Absolutely! According to Cherry, the season six premiere will see the family get "caught up in a disastrous thing" involving Susan Mayer's daughter Julie, who returns to Housewives full-time this year.
Cherry added: "Because of the attention focused on them, they worry that their secret will be exposed. Pretty much everyone in the family is keeping secrets from each other."
We've also heard rumours that a certain resident will be strangled in the season opener, shortly after announcing her pregnancy... Could the Bolens have anything to do with that particular storyline?
Are you looking forward to the Bolens descending on Wisteria Lane? What do you think will happen in season six? Add your comments to this entry below!
