TV Poll: 'X Factor' vs. 'Strictly'

Published Tuesday, Sep 15 2009, 17:48 BST | By Neil Wilkes | 24 comments
It's the clash of the reality TV titans this weekend as The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing go head-to-head in the schedules in a fight for your eyes.

If reports are to be believed, the BBC shifted Strictly to a later timeslot to compete directly with its commercial rival - and has apparently refused to compromise by reducing the time that both shows will overlap.

But which show will you be tuning in for on Saturday night? Has Cheryl Cole stolen your heart or will you be collecting your Brucie bonus? Cast your vote then sound off about the clash in the usual place below!

I'm in the same camp as Cy & Eric - with Bruce to fast-forward through on SCD & ads to fast-forward through on X Factor, I'll be watching both later.

Has to be the Xfactor! It never fails to entertain me. I find strictly boring and repetative. Xfactor always!

X Factor, mainly for Dannii, love her!

I would suggest that any form of spin is orchestrated in the papers ie Alesha V Arlene and Kristina having a showmance with her student Joe is going OTT. My reccomendation to all of the gullible folk is to ignore all of this and maybe just maybe people would be optomists instead of pessimists. The papers just have tricks up their sleeve to detract people watching Strictly especially the Daily Mail and to some extent the Sun. Interpritation to me with Alesha has been to funk and sex the show up. She is the underdog so you never know with what you are going to get. Altough Arlene wasn't my cup of tea I wish her good luck in "Pastures New".

X Factor but only because Dannii is on it!

I love x factor!!

Unfortunately they both have irritating people on them - Strictly with Brucie, and X Factor with Louis Walsh, with Louis Walsh winning by a miniscule point. So Strictly wins for me (but get rid of Louis Walsh and I'll convert in a nanosecond!)

Has to be the X-Factor - Danni M is sooooo hot!! (Glad it doesnt cash with Merlin) - Morgana (Kate McGrath) is equally hot!!

Despite preferring X Factor there is never any point in watching it live - too many ad-breaks and sob stories for that. If I'm in I will watch Strictly live.

xfactor!

Watch both later. Very rarely watch live TV these days, especially on commercial channels...

Its for times like this that Sky+ was invented!!! No need to worry, watch one & record the other for later!! I have to say I prefer X factor fo will be watching that live & recording SCD. But in all fairness SCD isnt much good until a few weeks in when they have lost some couples as there are too many & they cant dance long enough.

X-Factor for definate! SCD is the most boring show ever! I wouldnt call it a reality show tbh but hey thats just my opinion! I honestly dont know why anyone would rather watch SCD than XF coz the XF is THE best!!

I'm more of an X Factor kind of person. Strictly Come Dancing used to interest me back in the earlier series', but now it just feels a bit boring. I recognise some of the stars, but they don't hold enough interest for me.

110% Strictly for me. The X Factor is showing signs of having it's day. Live auditions on X Factor are a joke and judges argue 10 to the dozen. Strictly on the other hand is more random and more productive. It's also intriguing how celebrities come on and how they are taught by some of the best dancers in the world. By the way Joe or Rav 2 win they are good.

Can't stand X Factor. It has totally run its course. The country has found enough pop stars. It is time to invest time in the ones already found to give them a hope in hells chance of longevity. I simply love Strictly. Can't wait for it to return. Much more exciting than the XF. For me, Strictly wins everytime. Love it, love Brucie.

Strictly all the way. X Factor is too contrived these days.
Alex, Essex, on September 15th, 2009
I don't mind , as I checked the Guide and Merlin doesn't clash with Xfactor which are two of my favourite shows.

X Factor all the way, Bruce ruins strictly!
