More from the 'Doc Martin' cast

It's no big secret that it's quite a culty affair here on Tube Talk most of the time. You know the kind of shows we love - big US dramas, home-grown genre hits, Coach Trip... but we've no shame in admitting that we like the odd comedy drama here and there too.

Top of our list on that score, without doubt, is Martin Clunes's Doc Martin, which returns to ITV tonight after a very long hiatus. Hopefully now you'll have watched our interview with the rubber-faced lead (and seen how he reacts to the suggestion that his character might be similar to Hugh Laurie's House), but if not, click yourself here.

We also spent a bit of time with the rest of the cast - and now you can watch their interviews below. In order, we have the Doc's jilted fiancée Louisa (Caroline Catz), bumbling restaurant owner Bert Large (Ian McNeice) and dippy receptionist Pauline (Katherine Parkinson).

This is a good show. I can't explain the attraction except the characters are all full developed and full of human mishaps and miss-steps. I look forward to Series 5. I've devoured the rest.

The show is great! As an RN I worked in an office exactly like this office in every way. Including the Dr. and half wit receptionist. Too much for me in the real world of medicine. But love the show!

I am not a fan of House but really love Don Martin. Martin Clunes is such a good actor and there is such a good supporting cast it just is great and wish it was on every night.

I find House very boring, take themselves too seriously, but just love Doc Martin! Can't wait for season 4 to be shown in the US.

I think house is too serious, Doc Martin is much more fun! Lets hope it doesn't lose out to House in the ratings tonight either! Great show. Long Live Doc Martin!!

Never really understood comparisons with House...both leads are surly doctors; other than that they couldn't be any more different. Just wanted to comment that Americans DO know about Doc Martin and we love it too. For a show that's never been on the networks or cable, it's got an amazing following here (bear in mind, Netflix 'recommends' the show relentlessly to any member who's ever watched a program with a British person in it; and it's also been carried by some PBS stations).
