Is Cutter making a 'Primeval' return?

Remember earlier this year when Cutter was - rather unexpectedly - killed off in Primeval's third series? And then when ITV decided to axe the show altogether? Well, since ITV have done a bit of a U-turn and recommissioned the sci-fi show for two new series, we got to thinking that maybe Dougie Henshall could reprise his leading man role.
Recently, we hooked up with the man himself to get his thoughts on Primeval's cancellation, subsequent resurrection and the possibility of a Cutter comeback. Hit 'play' below to see what he had to say:

After hearing that interview, I've lost all respect for this guy. Of course it was a job! How bad could it have been? 6-10 episodes per series is nothing compared to 20-24 episodes of an average American series. Henshall is just a lazy bum.

its a real shame all the origonal leading characters apart from abey and connor have left they eather need to stop killing people off from now on as well as stop geting new charaters or get the old ones back. if you go back and watch the older episodes they are realy good bring back nick cutter claudia brown steven captain rian sarah dany and how cool would that be with all the series 1,3,and the new series 4 characters all in one large team.

I want Cutter to come back! Cos now theres only 2 people from the original Team! Bring Back Cutter! Even if he doesnt come back Conner should be the leader of the team Cutter said so !!

I heard that sarah is not a returning character for series 4 :( . I preffered cutter to danny but i think thenew team dynamic is good and hopefuly jenny or claudia will return along with helen . . . New series is coming up in the next 6 months I'm sooooo excited! any rumours about plots etc?

I really miss professor Nick Cutter and I want him to come back in the next season. I want him to solve the mysteries about Claudia Brown and futer predators.

well I think having Cutter back would be great!! But I suppose he has got a point in not coming back.. and besides it's not like the show is rubbish without him! I think he was great as his role, but he has gone! Thats why we now have Danny. Who here thinks Danny is a good replacement? I think he is. Love Connor, like abby and sarah, also love Becker!! :) But I shall look forward to the new 2 series.. YaY can't wait!! x

would love to see cutter & claudia/jenny come back to put a better ending to their story. cutter losing claudia, then jenny losing cutter--just too sad. it's fiction, give us a happy ending. LOVE PRIMEVAL!

I'll say it again Dougie. Most people would die for the opportunity that you had to be in a hit story. Don't you think it is the actors responsibility to update his character within the role? You should have been self motivating . I do give you credit in the episode where you went to her house and her boyfriend was there. I thought your reaction was admirable acting. I think I would only want you back if Lucy Bwrown returned as well

we love Primeval and are so excited it is back on, I think anything can happen and it would be great to see Claudia Brown walk back into the show with Cutter!

I think it will be weird without Cutter there but i think Danny is the best person to replace him . I'm sooooo happy that Primeval hasn't been axed , i don't think i would be able to live without knowing if Connor & Abby got out of that tree !!

Yes. Let's bring Cutter, Claudia, Stephen et al back to Primeval. Let's bring Danny, Tom and Zoe back to Spooks. Let's bring Danny and Stacie back to Hustle. Let's bring Den and Angie back to EastEnders (the most likely!). Lets reinstate the tenth Doctor. Don't let any series continue without the original cast or the cast we like best.

To me Cutter and Jenny/Claudia were the heart and soul of the show. I'm not sure it works without them.
