Dean Lennox Kelly talks 'Shameless'

Dean Lennox Kelly and Maxine Peake - arguably two of Shameless's best-ever characters as the loud-but-loveable Kev and Veronica - may have departed the series, but that hasn't kept them out of the public eye. Peake recently led the cast of Criminal Justice on BBC One and Kelly's projects include Anna Farris-fronted movie FAQ About Time Travel and ITV1's upcoming event drama Collision.
Recently, we had a word with Kelly about a possible return to his Shameless roots, his brother Craig's dancing on Strictly, and, err... washing up. Hit 'play' below to watch:

Yes!!!! We need kev and veronica back asap! The shows not the same without the original cast. We need Marty,fiona,Debbie,Tony,Shiela,Norma,Jez,Carol,Stan,Steve,Monica,Yvonne,Cash back to give the show some oumph again!!

It would be lovely to see them back, it is not the same without them. Its a massive shame as the storyline was left open for them to return. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Come back, I think Maxine Peake and Dean Lennox Kelly are brilliant actors and bring so much to the show.

Well it's sad to know Him & Maxine won't be back, but he is right, shameless isn't the same show anymore. We got the question answered but we didn't get the answer we wanted. :(

I would love Kev and Veronica to come back. Too many of the original cast have left and they two were classic

Kev & Veronica I can live without, but I would KILL to have Marty (Veronicas' Tourettes suffering brother) back on the show. I absolutely ADORED him. Sheila would also be most welcome.

Kev and Veronica were brill, and the first series was the best in my opinion,much funnier. I agree with Ryan that the original cast would be welcomed back with open arms
