Just For Laughs
Published Saturday, Mar 18 2006, 06:00 GMT | By Neil Wilkes

We begin with lookalikes, and this week it's the turn of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Johnny Lewis, aka disposable-best-friend Chili from The O.C.
The past few weeks have seen a number of new midseason comedies launch in the US but unfortunately, there's little to be excited about. The best of the bunch is a FOX show called Free Ride, about a guy re-engaging with his old life on his return from college. Others include the ridiculously wordy The New Adventures Of Old Christine (CBS), whose poor scripts fail to do justice to the comedic talents of Julia Louis Dreyfus, and Sons & Daughters (ABC), a partially improvised comedy that is about as funny as our new soaps podcast.
Tracy: "When is Everwood coming back - I'm really tired of Poirot?"
Neil: There's good news and bad news. Good news - Poirot finally ends this week. The bad news - Sherlock Holmes takes over the week after.
Richard: "Do you why Five have skipped the episode Manhattan Manhunt in season 2 of CSI: NY?"
Neil: This episode was actually the conclusion to a new CSI: Miami episode that Five has yet to air. Look out for both later in the year on Five, possibly shown as a back-to-back special.
Colin Gault: "I watched Veritas on Sc-Fi channel and wondered if there was going to be a second series."
Neil: Unfortunately, no. This is one of the many shows not to have survived past a handful of episodes.
Andrew: "Is Criminal Minds exclusive to Living TV, or can/will it make a terrestrial debut?"
Neil: It will be on Five later this year. Also, look out for NCIS winging its way to Five on Saturday, April 1.
Jill: "Is there any plans to repeat the 9/11 documentary Falling Man that was broadcast last night? Or is there some other way I can get it?"
Neil: Nothing scheduled at present, but look out for a repeat window on More4 some time next month.
George: "I read on Wikipedia that Invasion has been withdrawn from the US schedules temporarily because the ratings are so low. Is this going to affect C4's broadcast schedule? Will we get episodes *before* the US?"
Neil: Wouldn't that be fancy? Alas no, however, as new episodes started up again in the US last week.
Caroline Lloyd: "When will Sky be showing the new citv channel?"
Neil: May 8th onwards.
James Smith: "Do you have any information regarding if channel 4 or e4 plan to show the previous series of celebrity big brother i.e CBB 1, 2 and 3?"
Neil: Next to no chance.
Vicki Ellis: "What kind of ratings is NCIS getting on FX? Its a great show..."
Neil: Friday's premiere episode scored 165,000 viewers, which is very good in FX terms.
Derek: "I'm sure you've answered this but I can't find it. Is there any word on when Sky plan on showing the 3rd season of Deadwood yet? Also, I missed the first two episodes of Surface - Is there any hope of them showing them again when the season ends?"
Neil: Still no news on Deadwood, although season one will air on Sky Three next month. Little hope on Surface repeating unless it is recommissioned. On the subject of that show, drop me a line with any questions you may have for Carter Jenkins (aka Miles), who I'll be speaking to later this week.
Julip Blue: "Noticed that Stargate SG1 and Atlantis haven't done as well in the ratings this season for Sky One, are they likely to be picked up for their next seasons or not? Do you know what their ratings have been, they dropped out of the top 10 some time ago and I'd love to know how low they've been. BTW, joining in on the Supernatural love too, what a fantastic show that is, so pleased it's doing so well and crossing my fingers it makes it over to the CW without a problem."
Neil: They're both still putting in "socco" perfs - SG1 had 587,000 last week and Atlantis 439,000. Both have already been renewed for next season, you'll be pleased to know. Also, good news on Supernatural - in press material issued last week, Supernatural was listed amongst the returning shows on The CW. Others included Everwood, Reba, Everybody Hates Chris, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls and.... One Tree Hill.
Peter: "Hi there. Love the column - keep up the good work? I was just wondering how well Oprah's doing in the ratings since she came back to ITV2. ITV2's choice of episodes does seem very erratic."
Neil: Last week she averaged 144,000 - not bad, but nothing to write home about.
Mark: "I am loving your column i look forward to your new column every saturday. I was just wondering if anyone has the rights to show "Reunion, Ghost Whisperer and Headland",also if anyone does do you know when and what channel they will be on? Keep up the GREAT work."
Neil: Ghost Whisperer will air on abc1 later this Spring. The other two have both been picked up by E4 but unfortunately both also share the honour of being axed, so E4 has put plans to air them on hold for now.
That's it for this week. Keep those questions coming - I'll be back next weekend with more!
