As with its predecessor Extras, the show is jam-packed with A-List cameos (and Barry from EastEnders) and the most-anticipated performance comes from Gervais's Golden Globes nemesis Johnny Depp.

Warwick Davis told Digital Spy that "you never knew what you were going to get" with Depp, who serves up an incredible deadpan comic performance as a disgruntled Hollywood celeb.

Life's Too Short premieres on November 10 at 9.30pm on BBC Two. It will air in the US on HBO.
