Merlin S04E13: 'The Sword In The Stone - Part 2'

Last week, we delivered our top ten TV picks for the Christmas period, but there's still plenty more great telly where that came from!

There's an additional festive treat or two in store, and for all you wannabe Scrooges, the odd bit of non-seasonal comedy and drama too!

Read on for all the details...

Little Crackers: Every night at 9pm on Sky1
Little Crackers was one of the surprise hits of the festive season last year, so it's no surprise that Sky1 ordered a bunch of new episodes for this year! The 15-minute shorts - semi-autobiographical, star-studded stories - will be airing in double bills every night this week. Last year's were sweet and quietly cute, so we've got high hopes for these new instalments. Expect fun from celebs Jane Horrocks, Harry Hill, Barbara Windsor, Jack Whitehall, Alan Davies, Shappi Khorsandi, Sheridan Smith, John Bishop, Sally Lindsay, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Johnny Vegas.

Rev: Tuesday at 9.30am on BBC Two
Rev is an adorable little show, and perfect fodder for a Christmas special! We can't imagine it's going to be an easy festive period for poor Adam Smallbone, who seems to run into endless frustration wherever he turns. Turns out that being a vicar at Christmas is a pretty busy job, so having Alex's difficult father Martin come to stay is probably not high on his wishlist. Oh well! Heartwarming.

Simon Amstell - Do Nothing Live: Thursday at 10.30pm on BBC Three
Acerbic, quick-witted comic Amstell performed his excellent 'Do Nothing' stand-up show in Dublin's Vicar Street venue last year, and this week his performance is getting an airing on BBC Three! While you're waiting for a second series of the former Buzzcocks host's BBC Two sitcom Grandma's House, why not tune in for his chucklesome thoughts on sex, relationships and cats...

Carols from King's: Saturday at 5.45pm on BBC Two
Well now, this is always a highlight from the festive period. If you're still not feeling in the holiday spirit - or are just getting a little bit stressed - then put your feet up, grab a mug of tea/hot chocolate/mulled wine/vodka and relax with the wonderful Carols from King's. It's hard to find a more beautiful Christmas concert - whether you're religious or not - and it's guaranteed to make you feel all warm-hearted and peaceful (even if the effect only lasts for an hour).

Merlin: Saturday at 8pm on BBC One
The fourth series of Merlin has been the show's strongest run yet, so we'll be sad to see it disappear from the schedules for another year! In the second instalment of a two-part finale, Merlin (Colin Morgan), Arthur (Bradley James) and their new allies Tristan (Ben Daniels) and Isolde (Miranda Raison) are on the run from Agravaine (Nathaniel Parker) and his troops. Can Merlin restore order and return Arthur to his rightful place on Camelot's throne or has the dream of Albion been shattered forever?
