Miranda Hart, Jenny Agutter in 'Call the Midwife': First look - Photos

Sunday night dramas are a wonderful thing, aren't they? Heartwarming and comforting and perfect for a mug of hot chocolate. If you agree, you're in for a treat - the BBC's delivering Call the Midwife later this month!
The drama, based on Jennifer Worth's popular memoirs, stars newcomer Jessica Raine as a brand new midwife joining a group of nuns and nurses. It's set in 1950s London, so expect lots of bike-riding, eye-scrunchingly awful-sounding medical equipment (a glass enema? No, thanks) and an awful lot of the feelgood factor. Plus, cute little babies!
The cast ain't half bad, either - as well as the youngsters, comedian Miranda Hart's signed up to play bumbling midwife Chummy. And with the sisters being played by stars like Jenny Agutter, Pam Ferris and Judy Parfitt, you can't really go wrong!
BBC One's kindly just released a couple of press shots for Call the Midwife, so you can see the cast in their 1950s gear before the show starts on January 15 - take a look below!

Call the Midwife begins on January 15 at 8pm on BBC One.
