How's your July been so far everyone? It's gonna be a great month for Great Britain, what with that Olympic Games thing kicking off on the 27th. But we know that no matter how patriotic you are, not everyone is going to be that into watching the likes of Tom Daley and Rebecca Adlington for weeks on end.

With the TV schedules clogged by javelins and ping pong, we wouldn't blame you for reaching for a DVD. Get ahead of the Games...by popping in an order for some of these beautiful TV box sets.

Falling Skies - Season 1 (Out Now)
Starring: Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, Drew Roy, Jessy Schram
Rated: 15
Format: DVD
Yes, we know that Falling Skies doesn't really get down to the nitty-gritty until the very end of the season, but for those hoping to get in on everyone's new favourite sci-fi before season two debuts on FX tomorrow (July 3), this DVD is a must-buy. Taking place six months after an alien invasion destroyed 90% of humanity, Falling Skies sees Noah Wyle's history professor as part of the 2nd Mass, a group of soldiers and civilians who encounter enemies of both the extraterrestrial and earthly kind as they attempt to reclaim their world. Don't fall behind, grab it now!

South Park - Season 15 (Out Now)
Starring: Trey Parker, Matt Stone
Rated: 15
Format: DVD
Can you believe Cartman, Kenny, Stan and Kyle have been striking up scandals from their little Colorado town for 15 years now? Like most shows of a certain age, South Park has occasionally been hit with quibbles of 'it's not as good as it was', but the consensus at the moment seems to be that it's held up pretty darn well. It certainly still has plenty of bite, as topics covered in this 15th season include crack baby basketball, Apple's terrifying security measures, Asperger's and an X-rated secret about Broadway musicals.

Hit & Miss - Season 1 (Out Now)
Starring: Chloë Sevigny, Peter Wight, Jonas Armstrong, Vincent Regan
Rated: 18
Format: DVD and Blu-ray
Hit & Miss really shouldn't work. It was born by mashing together two completely different projects - one about a transsexual mother of five, the other about a hitman - and Sky Atlantic could have easily dropped the ball tackling such an out-there concept as one of their first original commissions. But somehow, it all came together into a show that is brutal, tender and constantly surprising. Chloë Sevigny's turn as the male-to-female assassin who discovers that she is parent to an ex-lover's children simply has to be seen.

Episodes - Series 2 (July 9)
Starring: Matt Le Blanc, Stephen Mangan, Tamsin Greig, John Pankow
Rated: 15
Format: DVD
Have you been converted yet? We find the trick to Episodes is that it's funnier if you just accept it's not that funny. Anyway, there's quite a bit more going on behind the scenes of Pucks this time around, as Sean (Mangan) and Beverley (Greig) tiptoe around their broken marriage, Matt faces a stalker and embarks on a new love affair, Carol (Kathleen Rose Perkins) reconsiders her own fling with Merc (Pankow) and - best of all - we get a cameo from yellow-haired Friends legend James Michael Tyler, aka Gunther.

Absolutely Fabulous - Ab Fab at 20 (July 30)
Starring: Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha, June Whitfield, Jane Horrocks
Rated: 15
Format: DVD
Its time to grab a little something from your trembling fridge of champagne bottles - Absolutely Fabulous is 20! To celebrate, the long-awaited Christmas 2011 and New Year's 2012 specials have finally been released on DVD, along with the upcoming Olympic adventures of Eddie and Patsy (which Joanna Lumley gave us a few hints about recently). Admittedly not everyone was too impressed with Ab Fab's return, but if you're part of the show's global army of followers this is a no-brainer buy. We say that the spunky cameos from The Killing's Sofie Gråbøl, Lulu and Emma Bunton, plus that amazing 'Hi Stella' gag are worth shelling out a tenner for.

ALSO RELEASED...Out Now: Sanctuary - Season 4, Bad Girls - Complete Series 1-8, July 9: Teen Wolf - Season 1, Starlings - Series 1, Saved by the Bell - The Complete Series, July 16: Damages - Season 4, Medium - Season 7: The Final Season, July 23: Wallander - Series 3, Bedlam - Series 2, July 30: NCIS - Season 8, White Collar - Season 2, Keeping Up with the Kardashians - Season 4, Lewis - Series 1-6.
