This Week's Must-See TV: 5 Shows You Shouldn't Miss

By
It's unfortunate that us mere mortals at Tube Talk will probably never be famous enough to enter I'm A Celebrity, which returns for its new series this week.

Luckily, we'll be able to recreate the experience of having a rat stuffed down our pants, or whatever, by tuning in to some great TV that's bound to get the adrenaline pumping, like new political thriller Secret State and some more Derren Brown insanity. Read on for details of these shows and more...

Secret State: Wednesday (November 7) at 10pm on Channel 4
Gabriel Byrne heads up this heavy political drama based on Chris Mullin's novel A Very British Coup as Deputy Prime Minister Tom Dawkins, who vows to take down those responsible for a factory explosion in Teesside.

It may be a noble aim, but with the PM perishing later in a suspicious plane crash, MI5 keeping tabs on his every move, and a journalist badgering him with talk of a conspiracy, it seems that Dawkins could be plunging headfirst into something bigger and darker than he ever anticipated. Billed by critics as The State of Play meets Edge of Darkness, Secret State is surely the kind of thing the edge of your seat was made for.

Grey's Anatomy: Wednesday (November 7) at 10pm on Sky Living
We are so ready to check into Seattle Grace following one of the most exciting ends to a season of Grey's ever. The ninth edition of the medical drama picks up a few months after the horrific plane crash that cost Lexie her life and left some of the doctors, including Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Cristina (Sandra Oh), fighting for theirs.

Needless to say, there are massive ramifications for those recovered from the wreckage, and by the time the episode closes at least one more of the victims will succumb to their injuries - who's going to be shuffling off to that great hospital in the sky?

Derren Brown: Fear and Faith: Friday (November 9) at 9pm on Channel 4
After convincing a complete stranger that the world has ended in what is surely the cruelest and most elaborate prank ever, Derren Brown continues to blow our minds with another two-part special Fear and Faith.

This time, the mentalist holds an experiment apparently showing what happens when people lose their fears thanks to a new drug. The whole thing is shrouded in secrecy at the moment, but there's three things we're sure of; one: the results will give us the willies, two: someone will immediately call "fake", and three: we can't wait.

Castle: Friday (November 9) at 10pm on Channel 5
It was bumped from the schedules for Big Brother, but Castle fans can now rejoice - Nathan Fillion's mystery writer-turned-crime solver and his flirting partner Detective Beckett (Stana Katic) are ready to commence with the final half of the show's second season.

In 'The Mistress Always Spanks Twice' (yes, that really is the episode title), Castle and Beckett venture into the world of bondage and fetish clubs after a woman's body is found hanging from handcuffs covered in caramel sauce. If being surrounded by leather and whips doesn't push the pair into each other's arms, maybe nothing will...

I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!: Sunday (November 11) at 9pm on ITV1
It's time once again to head back into the jungle, as a bunch of brand new stars surrender themselves to the horrors of the Bushtucker Trials in the 12th edition of I'm a Celebrity. Ant and Dec will be in their usual spot high in the trees of the Australian bush, mocking the contestants below them - which are rumoured to include Corrie's Helen Flanagan, Made in Chelsea's Hugo Taylor and a stripper cousin of Kate Middleton.

Who will succeed McFly member Dougie Poynter as 'King of the Jungle'? Who will show off a bikini bod to die for in the jungle waterfall? And will we discover a coward to rival the famously light-headed Gillian McKeith? We've not got long until we find out.
