'Game of Thrones', '30 Rock', 'Southland': Tube Talk Q&A

By and Daniel Sperling
You know the drill by now - you wing your TV-related queries and quibbles over to us and we answer them in a flash! As ever, we've reached out to those 'in the know' to bring you the latest telly scoop and those all-important UK air dates for your favourite US shows...

Is More4 going to show the fourth season of Southland? I love that show!

A while back, one of you enquired if the fourth run of this quality cop thriller would be airing on these shores and while we were able to confirm that More4 did indeed have the UK rights to the latest batch of episodes, at the time there was no confirmed air date...

But patience is a virtue and it's now 100% certain that Southland will return on Thursday, November 15 at 9pm. The ten-part season sees Lucy Liu join the cast as Cooper's ambitious new partner Jessica Tang - but with Liu now starring in Sky Living's Sherlock Holmes drama Elementary, will Tang survive long on the tough streets of LA?

Is Sky1 going to repeat Game of Thrones season two after the first?

Ah, that's just wishful thinking I'm afraid. The debut season of HBO's incredible fantasy epic is currently being replayed Monday nights on Sky1, much to the delight of the masses who until now have been forced to sit in silence when Game of Thrones is brought up down the pub or at the office.

While there are currently no plans for the second season of Game of Thrones to be repeated on Sky1 after the first, the broadcaster has confirmed that all ten episodes will air again on Sky Atlantic before season three premieres on the channel sometime around March 31, 2013 (the US air date).

In other, bizarre, Game of Thrones news, it's been confirmed that the next edition of the show will feature guest appearances from not one, but two rock stars. Coldplay drummer Will Champion and Snow Patrol lead singer Gary Lightbody will be cameoing in season three for an episode that sees them form a band with Joffrey and Robb Stark (we may have made that last part up).

Is there any chance of Parks and Recreation finally airing in the UK?

Bit of an odd one this - remember back in August when BBC Four claimed, by way of a single line in a press release announcing new programming, that it had acquired the UK rights to Parks and Rec?

Well, the segment of the release relating to Parks was later deleted, casting doubt on whether the Beeb actually had picked the series up or if the whole thing had been a massive typo...

Our understanding is that, while BBC Four is in talks to pick up Parks and Recreation - which is currently in its fifth season on NBC in the US - the deal is not yet finalised, so that release was a little premature in confirming any deal. So... fingers crossed for the future basically!

Can you get anyone to come clean about The Secret of Crickley Hall being pulled?

Just a quick update on this one, as we know how keen some of you were to see this Suranne Jones spookfest, from the pen of Ultraviolet writer Joe Ahearne. BBC One has confirmed that the haunted house drama - originally slated for Halloween transmission - will now begin on Sunday, November 18, at 9pm.

Sounds like perfect viewing for a night-in on a cold, chilly November evening! And because we're extra nice, here's a teaser quote from our upcoming Crickley Hall Q&A with Suranne Jones...

"I love vampires and witches and ghosts. We've been swapping horror DVD and book choices. I'm excited to be involved with it. Like with Doctor Who, you do your job and then you hand it over to a team of people who put the finishing touches on, and then you're dying to see it..."

Any idea when the sixth season of 30 Rock will air on Comedy Central?

When it will return, you mean? Yes, we do! Liz Lemon (Tina Fey), Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) and the rest of the oddballs at the Rockefeller Centre will return for the second half of season six in early 2013, Comedy Central has confirmed.

The first episode back, 'St Patrick's Day', sees Liz hiding out from the drunken festivities in her apartment with boyfriend Criss (James Marsden), but the plan backfires when her ex Dennis (Dean Winters) turns up injured at her door.

Later on, 30 Rock fans will be treated to their first glimpse of guest star Elizabeth Banks (Avery Jessup) since the character was kidnapped in North Korea back in season five, as well as the show's second live episode (sort of... it was recorded live in April), which features cameos from Sir Paul McCartney, Jon Hamm and Kim Kardashian.

For the fourth time of asking! Any news on Rizzoli & Isles returning to Alibi?

Eep! Sorry about that Carl - seems you've slipped through our figurative cracks every week. Please accept our apologies and confirmation from UKTV that Rizzoli & Isles will return to Alibi in the New Year.

We still feel pretty bad though for ignoring you, so will a lovely Q&A with Angie Harmon - aka Detective Jane Rizzoli - make up for everything? We should be chatting to her next month if all things run smoothly, so keep your eyes peeled for some juicy quotes on the next season of Rizzoli & Isles.
