“ Tube Talk ”
You have rare ambition
Published Saturday, Apr 14 2007, 18:56 BST | By Neil Wilkes
How about that for an end to Life On Mars? Shed no tears though, because details have emerged about the spinoff, Ashes To Ashes, coming early next year!
I've been playing with my green screen again. It's time for another Tube Talk In Video (aka TT in V) - this week with previews of Prison Break (as always), Desperate Housewives and Grease Is The Word. Click the play icon below to get going...
Peep Show returned on Friday and as I mentioned last week, episode 2 is arguably the best to date because it's a Johnson overdose. Yeah, Johnson. By the way, do check out our ridiculously long interview with Mitchell & Webb if you haven't done so already.
Over in the world of web sociability, the Tube Talk MySpace is still going strong. And this week it features another bonus Doctor Who hint, only this time it's not so lame.
I think that's a sufficient amount of preamble, so let's get stuck in to the questions...
That was merely the first question of many. The rest await you over on page two!
24, Heroes, Peep Show, The Apprentice and Doctor Who - it's all in the Spoiler Spot on the next page....
As always, select the area to the right of each programme to read the text - but be warned that you may well be spoiled.
24: President Palmer makes a miraculous recovery to resume his duties as commander-in-chief, but VP Daniels is having none of it. Meanwhile someone from the past who we all thought to be dead makes a sudden and suprising comeback... 24 airs Sundays at 9pm on Sky One
Doctor Who: Next week's ep - episode 4 - is set in 1930s New York, at the time of the Great Depression and the Hooverville mess. The Empire State Building is almost complete but there's a new boss overseeing the project - Dalek Sec, leader of the cult Skaro. He's a bit controversial - wanting to create Human-Dalek hybrids in order to safeguard the survival of their species. Ryan Carnes guest stars as Laszlo, an unfortunate stage hand who gets partly transformed into a pig. Don't forget your bonus hint in the blog of the Tube Talk MySpace.Doctor Who airs Saturdays at 7pm on BBC One
Heroes - US PACE: The series finally returns in the States on April 23 for its final five eps of the season. Here are five facts about those five eps:
1. Linderman has his own power - the ability to make things alive - which could come in very handy.
2. An episode will see Hiro and Ando travel five years into the future to see what could happen if they don't save the world. All heroes will die in said episode.
3. At least two of the regular characters will die before the season is out.
4. Simone is back in the season finale - and she has powers of her own.
5. Everyone meets up in New York in the finale, as per Peter's premonition.
Heroes airs Mondays at 10pm on Sci Fi
Peep Show: In a couple weeks (April 27), Jez's estranged wife Nancy returns. She's got a job at the local gym, where Mark is now spending oodles of time trying to get fit for the wedding (but mostly just as an excuse to get away from Sophie). Of course when Jez finds out he lands himself a job there and immediately sets about sabotaging her budding relationship with another employee. Both excrement and Mark's genitals are involved. Peep Show airs Fridays at 10.30pm on Channel 4
The Apprentice: Sir Alan wastes no time in changing around the teams this week, sending Paul and Tre to the girls' team and Sophie and Natalie to the boys. He also appoints the Project Managers - Ghazal for the girls and Adam for the boys, reasoning that both appear to be too quiet for their own good. The task is to design, produce and then sell their own sweets at London Zoo. One team manages to pull it off successfully, only to be let down by poor sales at the zoo, while the other has severe difficulties at the production stage. The Apprentice airs Wednesdays at 9pm on BBC One

Over in the world of web sociability, the Tube Talk MySpace is still going strong. And this week it features another bonus Doctor Who hint, only this time it's not so lame.
I think that's a sufficient amount of preamble, so let's get stuck in to the questions...
Chris Taylor: "Hi, wondered if you know if the theme tune to life on mars can be purchased?"
Neil: Good news - there is a soundtrack album available, including the title music (as a hidden track), the eponymous track from the series and lots of other tracks featured on the show.
That was merely the first question of many. The rest await you over on page two!
GC: "Hi, great column. Please could you tell me when the Sarah Jane Adventures begins? I've heard April but I'm not sure. Also, do you have any Doctor Who spoilers?"
Neil: Doctor Who spoilers regarding the Dalek invasion of Manhattan are down in the spoiler spot (page 3). Sarah Jane was delayed somewhat - as was the new series of Torchwood - but will now go into production this month for transmission this summer, post-Doctor Who.
Ciaran Hart: "If it is possible could you do a 24 spoiler spot or even give us readers a few spoiler on 24? I love the column, thank you for all your efforts."
Neil: More than happy to - spoiler spot is where it's at!
Belinda: "Is The IT Crowd ever coming back? I heard ages ago there was to be a second series... but when?"
Neil: Yes, it's taken them a while to get round to it but they've finally started filming the new series now. TX is for mid-summer.
Alice Hunter: "Are they making any more episodes of Teachers? I loved that show but it hasn't been on for ages!"
Neil: Teachers is long since axed, but the first series will rerun on FTN, Thursdays at 10pm from the 26th.
Andrew: "Has there or will there be a spin off of Charmed as i know there was talk of it ... at the moment loving Supernatural!"
Neil: No Charmed spinoffs are planned, but take a look here at would could have been.
Karl: "Although e4 decided once again not to advertise One Tree Hill at all, what were the ratings for the first episode of season 4?"
Neil: Around 50,000 viewers. Not very impressive, but then, what do you expect?
Robert Turner: "Love your column whenever it comes out. Do you know anything about what's going on with Scrapheap Challenge? We usually have a new season by now, and the best I've been able to turn up is that while season 9 was recorded last year it won't be shown until SEPTEMBER - surely not! Perhaps you can provide some justification or more information?"
Neil: Finally, Scrapheap returns this Sunday (15th) at 5.40pm. The series is being split in twoi, however - with the second batch of eight episodes airing from October.
Andrew Drennan: "Could you tell me when there will be /if a catch up of nip/tuck as it has been all over the place on sky and have missed episodes. Can never seem to find out when its on! Also has supernatural been commisioned for 3rd series and lastly when does 4400 return?"
Neil: No Nip/Tuck catch-up planned, although I'm told that the fourth season DVD set will be out within a couple months. Nothing on Supernatural yet, but expect word in the next couple weeks. The 4400 is expected back June 17 in the States, so we're talking July, maybe August, for Sky One.
Natalie: "I was wondering when Five Life is going to start showing Bad Girls? They've started Footballers' Wives, but ITV3 is still repeating Bad Girls so will it be anytime soon? Thanks!"
Neil: Bad Girls starts on Wednesday, May 2 at 9pm on Five Life with series four.
John McGough: "Hi, love the column as always. I have just finished watching the latest episode of Heroes from the states. Can you give any spoilers as to what is to come in the coming episodes, will we see ***** finally face down *****? It has to be coming surely? One other question can you confirm how many episodes there will be in this
season and when the last one will air in the states?"
season and when the last one will air in the states?"
Neil: Lots of Heroes gossip (US pace) in the spoiler spot. Season one will run for 23 episodes, with the final airing in the US on May 21. On that note...
Leigh: "Please, please, please, please, please tell me that ANY channel other then SciFi has picked up the rights to further seasons of Heroes. I can't stand the number of ad breaks they have."
Neil: Sci Fi will have a fight on its hands to keep hold of this, especially after season one plays out on BBC Two later this year. Expect Sky One to be all over it.
