Since we're in that sort of mood, this week's Tube Talk Q&A is all about the comebacks - we've got scoop on the return of Luther and Jonathan Creek, news on New Girl and a bit of a body blow for Bedlam fans...
When is Luther coming back??? So excited for series 3.
You certainly are excited judging by your punctuation, so we're going to give you one little teaser for each question mark you included in your original query about Idris Elba's dark detective drama!
1) When will the new series air? Well, the TX date for Luther 3 is yet to be officially confirmed, we're afraid, but the show will definitely be back this year - though you're looking at late 2013.
2) Barring a miracle, this will be the final series of Luther - while Idris 'Big Driis' Elba isn't turning his back on television completely, the Prometheus star is now keen to move behind the camera, starting with his self-penned directorial debut - the Anna Friel-starring TV film The Pavement Psychologist on Sky Arts.
3) But that doesn't mean that we've seen the last of John Luther. Elba has also revealed that the planned spinoff movie is still very much in the works and will be based on series creator Neil Cross's Luther: The Calling - the 2011 novel which served as a prequel to the television series.
Sad that Being Human's over but I like the look of In The Flesh - is it any good?
For those of you who are out of the cult TV loop, In The Flesh is a zombie drama from new writer Dominic Mitchell that'll be taking over Being Human's old Sundays at 10pm slot on BBC Three starting this week (March 17).
The show's a slightly unsettling blend of zombie horror and typically British kitchen sink drama - think George Romero meets Ken Loach. A cast of talented young newcomers - the likes of Luke Newberry and Harriet Cains - are joined by acting legends Kenneth Cranham and Ricky Tomlinson, lending a little gravitas to proceedings.
We've had a sneak peak at the first episode and were suitably intrigued, but if you find yourself loving In The Flesh come Sunday night, you should be armed with the knowledge that the first series spans just three episodes...
Is a second series in the offing? Director Jonny Campbell had this to say: "Dominic has ideas to fill a long-running series - having said that, we had three hours. We didn't want to tantalise viewers with essentially a three-part pilot - that happens far too often and it was really key for this to have a three-part story that - if you enjoy it - will leave you wanting more."
When is New Girl coming back/is it coming back? I miss it!
Fear not, sad sparrow - New Girl will indeed be returning for a second season (and a third, actually, but that's a long way away) and we finally have an airdate.
We revealed a couple of months ago that Zooey Deschanel and her pals were set to return in March, and this week E4 narrowed down that ETA to a specific date - Tuesday, March 26.
In the series premiere, 'Re-launch', Schmidt (Max Greenfield) throws a party to celebrate his broken penis making a full recovery, during which Jess (Deschanel) tries her hand at a sexy new profession, a different side of Winston (Lamorne Morris) emerges after he tries some fruity cocktails and Cece's (Hannah Simone) new boyfriend surprises everyone.
Oh, and you might be interested to know that Tuesday on E4 is apparently becoming ladies' night, with New Girl debuting alongside The Mindy Project. The brand new comedy stars former The Office (US) cast member Mindy Kaling as an unlucky-in-love OB/GYN. It's a blast, though if you have to google what those initials stand for this show might not be for you.
When is the new Jonathan Creek on?
The new Creek special - 'The Clue Of The Savant's Thumb' - is being designed as an Easter special, so while filming only recently wrapped, the episode is in quick turnaround for an Easter weekend airing.
With the returning Doctor Who and The Voice dominating the schedules on the night of Saturday, March 30, Jonathan (Alan Davies) and Joey Ross (Sheridan Smith) will likely return to our screens on Sunday, March 31 - though that date's yet to be confirmed by BBC One!
The Beeb *have* confirmed, however, that, post-Easter, we can expect three more Creek episodes - though the tousle-haired investigator may be paired with a new assistant. Sheridan Smith is keen to appear in the new series, but theatre commitments could take her out of the running - so it's a case of 'watch this space' to see if schedules will permit Joey's return!
Any news on Bedlam? Will there be a third series and if so will we see some returning cast?
Brace yourselves Lacey Turner fans, it's not quite the news you were hoping for. We know plenty of you out there, plus Bedlam star Jack Roth, are very keen to return to the spooky surroundings of Bedlam Heights, but for now nothing is in the pipeline.
A representative for Sky Living told us: "Bedlam is Sky Living HD's most successful original scripted commission to date and one of the most popular shows among Sky Living HD customers. There are no current plans for a third series but we'll be sure to let fans know should anything change in the future."
First ITV2's Switch gets axed and now Bedlam is up in the air? If Our Girl doesn't work out could we be seeing Lacey back on the set of EastEnders sooner rather than later?
