Spurned on by last edition's French Prison Break epiphany, I have done some digging and unearthed some more international remixes of Mr Schofield and co in action.
From Belgium, we have the inspired 'Prison Break Theme' by Kaye Styles:
And from Germany comes 'Ich Glaub An Dich' by Azad. Featuring Adel Tawel. Let's not forget Adel Tawel:
Martin Clunes stars in The Man Who Lost His Head, a new one-off drama for ITV1 airing this Sunday at 9pm.
Clunes plays Ian Bennet, a curator at the British Imperial Museum who travels to New Zealand to negotiate with a dysfunctional Maori community over the return of a sacred carving (of a head).
It's typical of a Clunes drama: lightly comedic (alas, too light in this case) but with a romantic undercurrent (frumpy British wife is usurped by caring Maori woman) - although in this case it only had me pining for more Doc Martin.
.... which, by the way, is returning very soon!
Now, time for a bumper round of your questions:
Gina: "In your Torchwood report you mentioned "everything is going to change for one of [the team]". Please tell me that David Tennant is not set to leave the series. He is without doubt the best Dr ever."
Neil: David Tennant isn't in Torchwood, as far as I'm aware. That said his shelf life on Doctor Who is limited but hopefully he has at least a couple more years in him yet.
Will Squires: "Not sure if this comes under your remit, but can you confirm or deny whispers I've heard regarding Brookside repeats on Virgin 1? If so, would you be able to give an indication as to where in the series they'll start? I recall UK Living (as was) and Sky One both attempting repeats from the 90s with varying degrees of success."
Neil: My source at the channel described the rumours as "horrible", "vicious" and "completely untrue". Ouch! I'd take that as a no.
Paul Matthews: "Loving the new Tube Talk! Just wondering if series 2 of The IT Crowd will be available on the C4 website prior to broadcast again this season?"
Neil: Alas not. However our very own TV Centre boasts a 2-minute exclusive preview, updated every week!
Nicola, Berks: "Hi I was wondering if you knew whether the BBC were planning a new series of Silent Witness, and if so, when it would be?"
Neil: A week today (August 28) at 9pm on BBC One. Hurrah!
Sam: "Now that Stargate Atlantis has a season 4 start date in America (this September), any word on when Sky One will be showing it in the UK?"
Neil: Less than two weeks after its US debut: the premiere is scheduled for October 9 at 8pm. More dates for your diaries on the ever-present Premiere List Page.
D Hunter: "I know it's usually only US TV questions you answer but I was wondering if Kaye Adams will be returning to ITV's Loose Women? It's not the same without her."
Neil: She won't, I can confirm. On the issue, a spokeswoman gives me a nicely inexplicit explanation, saying: "Kaye has decided not to return to Loose Women as she wants to look at other opportunites."
Sumit Das: "Hi Neil - there is a reality show in the US called On The Lot made by Mark Burnett & Steven Spielberg which looks like an Apprentice for film makers - do you know if this is coming to the UK? In particular Freeview?"
Neil: The show absolutely bombed, so there's next to no chance.
Gemma: "Is Justice ever going to get a UK airing? It was one of the stronger shows last year, even though it didn't survive."
Neil: It certainly was, and my scars have still yet to fully heal. But Living has finally found a place for it in the schedules, so expect to see it from the end of next month. And expect to hear more from me on the show in the coming weeks.
Coming up tomorrow, a preview of High School Musical 2 and scoop on the next series of Jack Dee's Lead Balloon!
