Lost returns for a fourth season of just eight episodes - half than originally expected, owing to the writers strike - in February. Watch the trailer:

Also, here's a MAJOR spoiler about who makes it back to civilisation. As we'll see early on in season four, six people manage to get off the island (at least to begin with, others may well follow). The so-called "Oceanic Six" are (highlight the text to the right to reveal): Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and Jin.

It's only eight episodes because of the writing strikes over in America, the show can't be filmed if there's no script to use. So their choices were to either show 8 now and 8 later once the strikes are over and the shows are then written/produced or delay the whole season until the above is done which is what 24 have done. They've delayed by like a year. So it could be worse, there's no point complaining about what is out of our hands, besides the writers do deserve to be paid for episodes shown on the web.

I think Kate and Jack would both class Sawyer as a friend (even though Jack and Sawyer have had their differences). It may even be a character we've not met yet.

We also know that someone else got off - remember the funeral and the quote, "he wasnt family or friend". Sawyer? Ben? Locke?

Super excited about S4, especially since the trailer came out. I think it does explain Jack's guilt and interesting anyway to see how this now plays out. Will be disappointed if Claire doesn't get in a helicopter since that was so important to Charlie and why he did what he did.

That explains Jacks guilt in the flashforward from last season finale. If he was one of six allowed off - what about all the other survivors?? What about Claire - surely she'd be the first allowed off - she's got a baby! So much for mothers and children first. Charming!
