Hurrah... it's Torchwood Tuesday!
In next week's episode (Feb 20), Captain Jack has a "VIP visitor":

Martha Jones - or should that be Samantha? - joins the team for a three-episode stint, helping out with an investigation into some mysterious deaths. This is a different Martha from the days of the Doctor; she's more confident and much more clued-up thanks to her new job working at an organisation known as UNIT.
The superb episode also has a last-minute shock twist bound to leave you reeling.
What do you think about Martha joining the Torchwood crew? What could the shock twist be? Click the link below to add your comments to this entry.

I like the character of Martha but Freema isn't that good an actress is she? Let's be honest, she can be very wooden. Reset was full of clunky 'Treema' moments.

I can't stand Martha Jones but I must say, I can't wait for her episodes! The 2 that I've heard the summaries of sound great.

I thought it was a reference to Samantha Jones in the eighth Doctor novels.

I'm looking forward to seeing Martha back... I expect her to be able to kick-ass and take names. That year of hers trekking around the planet while Captain Jack and the Doctor were kept prisoner should have given her plenty of confidence and make her a good candidate for joining Torchwood. Whether she should or not, I don't know... it would surely throw a monkey wrench in the relationships between the crew that exist now.

The shock twist has something to do with Owen and Weevils.

I was wondering if UNIT had been airbrushed from the DW universe. I'm curious to see how they relate to Torchwood, given how much their activities overlap!

I thought Martha was great in Dr Who and unfairly maligned. Will be good to see her back and I hope this is just the start of a new journey for the character ... now they have brought back UNIT.

Samantha... excellent! I wonder if the shock could be the death of a member of the Torchwood team? IJ?

Samantha Jones as in a reference to the wondrously promiscuous Kim Cattral from 'Sex and the City'!

Though there were a few 'treema' moments in this episode, I was rooting for Martha by the end. Even when she's a little wooden, Freema manages to be very likeable, which is the most important attribute for a Doctor Who assistant, especially given how thinly-drawn they tend to be as characters. Can't wait to see her in the new series of Who!
