Q&A: Another 'Unit', 'Bones' is back, and more
Published Friday, Mar 21 2008, 14:40 GMT | By Neil Wilkes | 7 comments
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm about to break a record. This is now the fifth week in a row I've managed to muster up the spirit to answer your questions. And on a Good Friday too! Surely this is too good to be true?
Also, don't forget about our faithful friend the PLP. New this week, there are dates for Doctor Who, Shipwrecked, US import Cane and the long-awaited (but low-key) debut for Six Degrees.
That's all for this week. Keep the questions coming to the usual place - and have a great Easter!
Should Channel 4 show fewer US imports? Are you a secret Wildfire fan too? Click the link below to add your comments to this entry!

Clare: "Any news on when and if The Unit is back for another series? They all seem to be repeats at the moment."
Neil: The repeats are to continue for a while yet. Seasons one and two will air on Bravo from mid-August, leading in to the premiere of season three on Virgin 1 (yes, it's moving home) in the autumn. The show has not yet been renewed for a fourth season in the US.
lisa legg: "Help, what has happened to Dawson's Creek on Five life. It has been on from Season One and was up to Season 6 with 9 episodes left! Five have now decides to show a repeat of Neighbours!! Will they be showing the end of Dawson's Creek!!! Please help"
Neil: It's most definitely been usurped by that pesky Aussie soap: there are no plans to return Dawson, or his creek, to the schedules in the near future.
Oli Tebbutt: "Hi, is there any news on whether Dante's Cove will be aired in the UK, and if there is going to be a fourth series?"
Neil: It seems no UK broadcaster has yet been brave enough to screen this bizarre gay drama, although the first couple seasons have now been released on R2 DVD. There has been no announcement yet of a fourth season.
Adam Newman: "Hi, love the Q&A! Any idea if the new series of American Gladiators will be shown over here? ITV says they don't have it, and Sky are doing their own version, so they probably won't either. Challenge maybe?"
Neil: As I understand it the US version will go out on Sky One, probably as a follow-on from the UK version, which airs from May.
mandy: "do you know when itv will air the new series of Wire in the Blood please"
Neil: Filming on the sixth series is currently underway in Newcastle for broadcast this Autumn.
Gina: "Hi Neil. Love the questions.
I noticed Dancing with the Stars is starting in the States on March 17. Will the new season be shown over here? If so, when?"
I noticed Dancing with the Stars is starting in the States on March 17. Will the new season be shown over here? If so, when?"
Neil: How about this for service: UKTV Gold premieres the new run tonight at 8pm. And to think, once upon a time this channel did broadcast vintage British shows...
Gary: "Hey. Any idea on season 2 of Dirt starting in the UK? And will it be another run of 13? Cheers."
Neil: The new run airs from the end of April on Five Life, coinciding with the channel's rebranding under the new name "Fiver". The second season is only seven episodes long, thanks to that blasted writers' strike.
kim: "hi i just wanna know what happened to the amazing e4 show Nearly Famous...i know it was beenin showed on e4 thus at 11.05pm...but one thusday i missed and now its not showing at the time slot. has it change? or has the show ended (that i did not know about)? n when is it going to come back on?? i need help thanks"
Louise Johnson: "Any chance you know whether Honest will be back for another series? I thought it was great and can't wait to see what the Carter family get up to next."
Neil: This is one of several ITV dramas - The Palace is also on the list - waiting to hear from new director of television Peter Fincham.
Ally: "This is a little embarrasing to admit but I really enjoyed seasons one & two of Wildfire on Trouble and I was wondering if and when they were going to show seasons three & four & do you know if it has renewed in the US? It isn't on your US TV Show Status list!"
Neil: The current plan is to repeat seasons one and two in their entireties again from next month, with subsequent seaons following at some point in the future. No word on a fifth season from ABC Family in the US - at present, the Tube Talk list only features shows on broadcast networks, not cable channels - although it's very likely to end with season four.
David Howells: "Hi. Do you happen to know if there is going to be a 3rd season of Kyle XY? Couldn't find it in your US season renewal list."
Neil: A third season has already been confirmed (not to be confused with the second half of season two). For those who haven't seen Kyle yet, season one plays out on BBC Two's 'Switch' from the end of May.
Ollie: "Hey! Love TT, don't know what I would do without it. Just going through new shows/returning for the next weeks/months and was wondering if there was a date for the new series of My Family yet?"
Neil: My Family is back for an eighth series on Friday, April 11. Guest stars this time include Anna Chancellor, Pauline Quirke, Emma Kennedy and Georgia Moffett.
Lynne: "Hi neil any idea when they will finish showing Ugly Betty and Bones they both just stopped in the middle of the series (I know it was due to strike) sky mag says they should be back this month but dont give a date."
Neil: Sky Mag is a filthy lying piece of trash! Betty resumes on Channel 4 in May, while Bones is back on Sky One on April 10. By the way, I'm kidding about Sky Mag.
anon: "i heard recently that CH4 are going to be buying in less US imports and focussing more on home-grown output. Any news yet of which US shows will be getting the axe and if this new directive is only for CH4 or will affect (effect?) E4 and More 4 too. It woudl be a shame to lose shows like Without a Trace, Reaper, Desperate Housewives."
Neil: It's affect. I think what you're hearing about Channel 4 pledging to cut US commissions is all about PR. At the moment the broadcaster is desperately trying to prove its integrity, so you'll get statements about slashing US imports, Big Brother being shifted to E4, and so on. In reality the effect (it's a noun now) won't be that great, and as long as you have E4 - and of course, rival digital channels - you'll be fine. For instance, I hear that E4 has just done a deal for a bunch of old US shows, starting with the short-lived Taye Diggs drama Kevin Hill (airing from April 2) but also including Gilmore Girls. All this said, it's not entirely out of the question that C4 will lose the rights to Desperate Housewives after this season.
Sam M: "Hi, Any news when living TV is going to show season 3 of Ghost Whisperer? I heard that E4 maybe showing it?"
Neil: JLH will be back on Living late summer. Think July.
That's all for this week. Keep the questions coming to the usual place - and have a great Easter!

People will begin to think this is a weekly column if you keep this up Neil. Anyway, great to have our regular Tube Talk Q&A fix back - really was missed. Talking of which, so it's Dek's TV Diary - hope everything's OK with him. Re: Nearly Famous - Kim, all episodes are available to download for free via 4oD.

Will we have to wait until the BBC show Season 1 and Season 2 Part 1 before S2 Part 2 is shown anywhere? Trouble seems to have given up on the show since losing it to the BBC - a comment on their forums says there are "no plans" to show more Kyle... please say it isn't true!

Yay Gilmore's! I think it's two more seasons. I've become oddly hooked on Wildfire. Can't wait for Bones!
