Pictures: David Bowie in 'Heroes'?

A signature part of Heroes has always been the prophetic paintings from artist Isaac Mendez (now the dearly departed Isaac Mendez - long rest his soothsaying soul). You remember the classic images: Claire lying dead in her blood-soaked cheerleading outfit, Hiro battling a big green dinosaur, New York disappearing behind a giant mushroom cloud...

Well, I've stumbled across some hitherto unseen paintings from the Mendez Collection that could shed light on what's to come in future episodes.

Is music legend David Bowie about to make a cameo?

.. perhaps playing the husband of kooky folk-pop singer Imogen Heap?

Hang on a minute... is that a cameo from hardcore rockers Death Cab For Cutie?

OK, OK, so this is a ruse. These imitations are nothing more than a PR stunt to promote the official Heroes soundtrack album, out May 5. As well as some of the most popular tunes from the series, the CD also comes with a little comic booklet featuring each of the musical artists after a Heroes-style makeover. Innovative!

Meanwhile, here's a look at an actual painting to be featured in the second season, currently airing on BBC Two:

Did you really just refer to Death Cab as 'hardcore rockers'. haha, you're so out of touch. I dont watch heroes, but it looks as if their soundtrack is the content of my itunes.

But as Isaac is dead who is drawing these pictures? Peter?
