it looks awfully cheesy, why couldn't they just show the BBC version there It looks like it'll be ten times better anyway.

It's an absolute betrayal that it was sold to the unimaginative yanks in the first place, and they could have at least changed the names as well as the year and location. I'm so not in favour of having our Sam Tyler replaced by anyone, so this show had better bomb... But it might not, as most Americans won't have seen the original.

I'll give it a watch. It's very difficult to judge from a trailer anyway. To Pete above - ABC have a webpage for the show so I'm pretty sure it will be airing 'this fall'. I did read today though, "The "Life on Mars" pilot will likely be reshot. McPherson noted that the retooling could involve some recasting but the general idea is establish the vision of incoming executive producers Josh Applebaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg."

This looks so bad. It's the exact same show, I mean I remember every one of those scenes from the original Life On Mars, except John Simm and Philip Glenister did them all infinitely better. Those two just overact, and badly!

from what I've read, this has already been canned in the US and won't be shown anyway.

IMHO I think it looks like it's being totally over acted. Why can't the Americans watch one of OUR shows w/out having to remake it... we don't remake all of theirs. Maybe they're scared that we can do it better.

What a load of Americanised rubbish. Why is it that America has the capacity to make both the best, and the worst television?

I wanted to hate this so much as the British version was so fantastic but you know what - I think it may be good after all! I loved the flares!

This remake is a compliment to the makers of the original. However, like the Office US, it should never have been made. I don't watch remakes or copycats.
