Warning: Today's edition of Tube Talk is especially spoilerific. If you haven't seen the season finale of Lost, look away now!

OK, so how spectacular was the Lost finale? There was much to get excited about:

  • Sayid kicking ass.

  • Walt getting big.

  • Skater(*) being back on. Then off again!

  • Ageless other Richard Alpert returning.

  • Michael meeting an explosive demise.

  • Keamy meeting a slow and painful demise.

  • Locke succeeding Ben as leader of The Others.

  • Sun calling the shots in the future.

  • Ben moving the island from harm's way.

  • Penny and Desmond!

  • Of course, not forgetting that final three-second revelation:

  • The Islander Formerly Known As John Locke being the person in the coffin!

  • Such was the secrecy of this plot twist that producers filmed two alternative endings that saw two other islanders becoming indisposed. Click 'play' below to discover which, courtesy of US breakfast show Good Morning America:

One other thing: want to know what Sawyer whispered to Kate on the helicopter? Someone on the web with extremely good hearing (and presumably, very loud speakers) has deduced that the muffled line was in fact: "I have a daughter in Albuquerque. You need to find her, tell her I'm sorry."

Hands up who's excited about season five? Only eight months to go!

(*) What, you don't know your Lost portmanteaux? Tsk tsk! Skate=Sawyer+Kate.

i think it's not locke in the coffin . he can't leave the island because if he did he will not be able to walk .he'll have to use a wheel chair and i don't think he want to comeback to his old state.and sun is not blaming jack for jin's death . i think he is not dead .but how did the island move ?

I think it wouldn't have worked with Des or Sawyer... It seemed that not a lot of people liked Jeremy Bentham, so it worked being Locke. Edge of the seat stuff- Bring on Season 5! :D

Love Lost. I didn't think Season 4 would be this good after having to wait for almost a year, but it was better than I could have possibly imagined. I am so happy they didn't kill of Sawyer who is by far my favorite character! I loved when the Island vanished and Hurley confronted Jack's ongoing skepticism. You go Hugo! Can't wait for Season 5 to see what happens...happened...will happen??!!

I thought the finale was awesome. Totally not what I expected but thoroughly entertaining and thrilling all the more. I have always been a fan of Kate and this season has made me like her all the more; same goes for Sun, Juliet and Jack. Roll on season five please.

I love that show it always has me on the edge of my seat I cant wait for the next season, can they really fit all the answers we need into 2 seasons though? Locke cant die though its not fair? Or maybe the island will bring him back to life. Crazy, Unprecictable but I love it!

You can't blame Jack for Jin's demise if he'd gone back for him they all would've died, plus this is Lost he could be back next series. Best series since s1 I think really looking forward to next series and to find out what happened to Claire. Hope they stop doing the love triangle with Jack/Kate/Sawyer though.

I thought Season 3 wasn't as good as the other seasons up until the 3-parter finale (There's No Place Like Home), but the final part of the season restored my interest in the show. Great finale, and a great twist at the end. Now I can't wait for Season 5.

I thought the ending was an excellent finale to an unbelievably good season. I am really looking forward to Season 5 where we will hopefully see them get back to the Island and find out what the bad things that happened were once the Oceanic 6 had left.

Fascinating - I always thought that shows lied when they said they'd made multiple endings! Maybe in 3 parallel universes there are multiple LOSTS!

Interesting! Locke definitely works best though I think. I would not have been happy if it was Desmond after he got back to Penny.
